The city plans to promote the construction of Huimin recycling service points in batches, taking the lead in building 300 this year, and plans to build a total of 800 by 2025.
In addition, a number of demonstration recyclables transfer stations will be built. Citizens can also go to these transit stations to sell recyclables. In the transfer station, there is a popular science area and a trading area for idle items. These transit stations are available to citizens around the clock and regularly organize tours for citizens. By the end of the year, 39 will be the first to be built, and by 2025, a total of 50 will be built.
If the public does not know where to sell recyclables nearby, they can use the "Hushang Recycling" mini program. This is a public service platform for recyclables recycling that is being built, which gathers the service resources of recyclables recycling entities in various districts of the city, and you can open the applet to query the surrounding recycling service point information, recycling activity day arrangements, etc. It is expected that in the second half of this year, the service platform can realize the city's recyclable recycling "point station" information, and the main enterprise recycling service will be fully accessed.
The Municipal Greening and City Appearance Bureau also introduced that it will deepen the reduction and fine classification of packaging materials to promote the reduction of garbage at the source. Promote e-commerce, express delivery and other industries to accelerate the promotion of green packaging materials, promote the pilot application of recyclable express packaging, and achieve a no longer secondary packaging rate of e-commerce express and the coverage rate of express packaging recycling facilities are more than 98%.
In the area of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jing'an Temple business district and other important public places to build a model area for the fine classification of domestic waste, in Jing'an, Xuhui and other jurisdictional business districts, industrial parks and some shops along the street to carry out disposable lunch boxes, Tetra Pak bags and other special categories of resource recycling pilots.
It has been nearly 5 years since Shanghai fully implemented garbage classification, and the "three increases and one reduction" of domestic waste has achieved obvious results. Last year, the city's daily output of recyclables was 7,698 tons, hazardous waste was 2 tons, wet garbage was 9,443 tons, and dry waste was 17,264 tons. Compared with the first half of 2019 before the implementation of the Shanghai Municipal Household Waste Management Regulations, recyclables, hazardous waste and wet waste increased by 1.9 times, 14.3 times and 0.7 times respectively, and dry waste decreased by 15.6%.
At present, the city has built 15,000 service points, 205 transfer stations, 14 distribution yards, 45,000 waste bins such as roads and public squares, the recycling rate of domestic waste has reached 43%, and the original domestic waste has maintained zero landfill.
