On the occasion of the "4.23" World Book Day, the "Kang Mu Yi Zhai" reading club series of activities guided by the Propaganda Department of the Dongcheng District Party Committee, relying on the former site of the editorial office of the "New Youth" (Chen Duxiu's former residence), a patriotic education base in the region, held the Dongcheng District Red Classic Reading Club, and young students from Beijing No. 27 Middle School and veterans, experts and scholars jointly felt the red memory of the land of Dongcheng.
First of all, Yu Zhiming, a veteran of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, was invited to give a patriotic national defense education class to everyone. With vivid facts and popular language, he reproduced to the audience the heroic spirit and national spirit of the revolutionary ancestors who served the country and the people, fought bravely and well, dared to sacrifice, and had the courage to contribute.
Liu Yue, president of the Beijing Municipal Society of Communist Party History, introduced the enthusiastic young people who were active in the early revolutionary activities of the Communist Party of China in Beijing with the theme of "New Youth in History", who studied and disseminated Marxist theory, were indomitable and indomitable, and drew a great beginning for the party's revolutionary cause.

Zuo Kun, director of Dongcheng District Library, combined with the development of cultural ideas and contemporary culture of the New Culture Movement, introduced the story of Dongcheng District composing a new rhyme of the ancient capital and inheriting and developing revolutionary culture. She said that Dongcheng District, as the main position of the New Culture Movement, is not only a witness to history, but also bears the heavy responsibility of cultural dissemination.
A hundred years ago, Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu and other revolutionary ancestors all worked in this small courtyard. Through this sharing, the participants felt as if they had traveled back in time and space to have a heart-to-heart dialogue with the pioneers.
At the end of the event, the guests recommended books related to the history of red, and invited the students to cherish the good times in the warm spring, read hard, and absorb the power of reading. The students also visited the former site of the editorial office of "New Youth" to learn how the magazine was printed and distributed, and how the ideological enlightenment of the new culture sprouted and burned like a spark to create a glorious future of revolution.
