The fragrance of books infiltrates the soul, and reading lights up life. On April 23, the launching ceremony of the 2024 "4.23 World Book Day" and National Reading Week in Yongchang County was held in the county library.
The event was hosted by the Propaganda Department of the County Party Committee and undertaken by the County Bureau of Culture, Sports, Radio, Television and Tourism and the County Library. The theme of the activity is clear, the content is rich, and the forms are diverse, which creates a strong atmosphere for cultivating the good habit of "loving reading, reading good books, and being good at reading" for the whole people, promotes the extensive and in-depth development of national reading activities, continues to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the people in the county, and promotes the construction of scholarly Yongchang.
At the launching ceremony, the reading proposal of "Promoting National Reading and Building a Scholarly Yongchang" was read out, and the "Walk with Love, Bathe in the Fragrance of Books" love book collection activity was carried out on the spot, and people from all walks of life actively donated more than 500 idle books to the "Book Exchange Station" set up by the library, so that it can radiate a new life. Cultural volunteers of the cultural tourism system wore traditional costumes and recited ancient American texts, read ancient poems and ancient rhymes, and sang Chinese classics through chanting and creative expressions, so that the audience could deeply experience the wisdom and power given by ancient poems, and create a strong propaganda atmosphere of scholarly Yongchang.
During the period, the County Bureau of Culture, Sports, Radio, Television and Tourism, together with the Press and Publication Bureau, organized a physical bookstore exhibition and sales activity, displaying classic best-selling books, promoting the literature resources of the county library, setting off a "national reading tide", and helping the in-depth development of the series of activities of the National Reading Week.
