A number of research achievements in mainland China will be unveiled on the 2024 AATS international stage.
The 104th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) kicked off on April 27, 2024 local time at the Metropolitan Convention Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1917, AATS is the world's most prestigious academic organization in the field of thoracic and cardiac surgery, and its annual meeting has been recognized as the first of the international conferences in the field of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery after a century of accumulation and continuous development.
The 104th Annual Meeting brings together internationally renowned surgeons who will have in-depth discussions on current research hotspots and clinical challenges, ask tough questions, and share their new perspectives and findings. This will provide a unique opportunity for participants to jointly promote the development and progress of the field of cardiothoracic surgery with a broader vision and more in-depth discussion. This year, a number of experts and scholars in the field of cardiothoracic surgery in mainland China will bring 33 important research results to AATS. The contents involve: basic research on lung cancer, clinical diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, and diagnosis and treatment of mediastinal and esophageal related diseases. The results of the study will be presented in two formats: "poster presentation" and "oral presentation". It is worth mentioning that the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University/National Center for Respiratory Medicine, as an authoritative diagnosis and treatment center for thoracic diseases in China, has contributed as many as 11 high-quality clinical studies (5 oral presentations and 6 poster presentations), singing the "Voice of China" in the field of thoracic surgery diagnosis and treatment.

At the 2024 AATS Annual Meeting, Chinese scholars will present their important research results in the field of thoracic surgery, marking China's growing voice in the global cardiothoracic surgery academic community.
