Tens of thousands of "super brains" are running at the same time

On December 20, 2021, the National Development and Reform Commission and other four ministries and commissions approved the start of the construction of the national hub node (Gansu Qingyang) node and Qingyang data center cluster of the national integrated computing power network to provide computing power support for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other regions.

In the past two years, Qingyang has "broken the ice and tested the water" to gather elements, "surging with data" to expand computing power, and joined hands with leading enterprises in digital technology to build a "Eastern Data and Western Computing" data integration innovation demonstration zone, a red data resource agglomeration demonstration area and an artificial intelligence industrial base.

The Qinhuai Data Zero Carbon Data Center Industrial Base Project is the first batch of demonstration projects of the national "Eastern Data and Western Computing" project, and it is also the first batch of projects for digital economy enterprises to land in Qingyang.

In recent years, with the explosive development of AI computing power and digital industry, the demand for power energy has also increased exponentially. As a result, Qinhuai Data Group, which is committed to building the best data center in Asia, and Qingyang, Longdong, which has the advantage of tens of millions of kilowatts of clean energy resources, have found the optimal solution, and the new concept and project of "zero-carbon data" have finally landed.

"With a total investment of 770 million yuan, the first phase of the project will start construction in June 2023 and complete the capping of the main project in November, becoming the first batch of data centers to be capped in Qingyang's 'Eastern Data and Western Computing' Industrial Park. Speaking of the magical construction speed, Li Zengzhi, the person in charge of the Qinhuai Data project site, is quite proud, "It is expected that all the projects will be completed by the end of June, and the completion and acceptance of the project will be completed in July, so as to make sufficient preparations for the delivery of the project's mechanical and electrical engineering."

Qinhuai Data Zero Carbon Data Center is the epitome of the rapid development of Qingyang's digital economy. In accordance with the model of "building a complete industrial chain and cultivating industrial clusters", Qingyang City has efficiently promoted the investment promotion and settlement of the digital economy, and has negotiated and docked with more than 1,800 domestic digital economy enterprises and signed a contract investment of more than 350 billion yuan, and 121 enterprises such as China Energy Construction, Kingsoft Cloud, and Qinhuai Data have registered and established subsidiaries in Qingyang.

Recently, with the stable operation of 1,000 GPU servers in Qingyang Computing Center, the national hub of China Telecom's "Eastern Data and Western Computing", the computing power scale of Qingyang Data Center, the hub node of the national integrated computing network (Gansu Qingyang), has reached 5,300P. This means that the computing power of the hub has increased dramatically.

According to the current theory, 10P is equivalent to the computing power of 5,000 high-performance computers, and 100P is equivalent to 1 billion calculations per second. The scale of computing power exceeds 5000P, which means that tens of thousands of "super brains" are running at the same time, which can support model training and inference of AI (artificial intelligence) super applications, and application scenarios such as autonomous driving, urban brain, smart healthcare, smart transportation, network security, intelligent digital design and construction, speech recognition, and natural language processing will be easily controlled.

"At present, three data centers of China Telecom, China Mobile and Yunchuang have been put into use, with a total of 15,000 racks and an average shelf rate of more than 80%. Qingyang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology Director Chou Yifei introduced, the local also attracted Gansu Suihong, Han Monkey Technology, Kingsoft Cloud and other intelligent computing centers landed, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, Zhejiang Zhonghe this year to start construction, the scale will exceed 200,000 racks.

At present, in the main building of China Telecom Qingyang Cloud Computing Big Data Center, Suihong Huachuang has quickly built an intelligent computing center with various characteristics such as open source, intensive and efficient, green and inclusive in 3 months, forming a high-performance computing power supply scale of nearly 3000P.

Walking into the Suihonghua Chuangzhi Computing Center, the black cabinets are neatly arranged, the data lines are staggered and horizontal, and the strings of beating bytes and lines of flashing codes mark that Qingyang's green computing power is continuously being transported outward.

"In the near future, green computing power will become an affordable resource for small and medium-sized enterprises, just like hydropower in daily life.
