In Changsha, Hunan, the antique city is not only a gathering place for the elderly, but also a "Tao Paradise" for young people.

"Sometimes you can find something new, and it's good and cheap. In Changsha Tianxin Pavilion Antique City, Liu An'an, a student at Hunan Normal University, showed reporters her victories, a 135 yuan (RMB, the same below) Canon CCD camera and a 30 yuan Bodhi bracelet. She bluntly said that it is not that she can't afford it at the original price, but that second-hand is more cost-effective.

It is not uncommon for young people like Liu Anan to be keen on "shopping for goods". In her dormitory, a washing machine that has been used by three owners is running peacefully. "We bought it from graduates through the school's second-hand group. Liu Anan said that household appliances such as washing machines are not easy to handle, but they are highly durable, and they can be "passed down from generation to generation" at a relatively low price, which can achieve a win-win situation for buyers and sellers.

Chen Jing, a Hunan girl who loves to open blind boxes, also gives second-hand trading social attributes. "There are too many blind boxes, and it is inevitable to encounter duplication. She believes that the exchange of idle blind boxes can not only find more suitable owners for them, but also find "like-mindedness" for herself, which may sometimes be more negotiable than real relatives and friends.

According to the latest data from Xianyu, one of China's largest second-hand commodity trading platforms, the average daily trading volume of Xianyu has exceeded 1 billion yuan, and 4 million idle items have been posted on Xianyu every day in the past year. From the perspective of user "portraits", "post-95" users account for 43%, and "post-00s" account for 22%.

From books and toys to home appliances and furniture...... With the gradual popularity of green consumption concepts such as "idle economy" and "sharing economy", "buying second-hand and using second-hand" has been accepted by more and more consumers, and has even become a green and environmentally friendly living habit.

Zhang Qian, a "post-95" worker, experienced the thrill of being a boss on the second-hand commodity trading platform. Due to a change in work, she planned to move and resold the second-hand shoe cabinet and small refrigerator she had previously purchased, successfully "recovering blood" for her wallet. In her view, buying and selling second-hand products is a green and low-carbon life attitude, which is more in line with the lifestyle of young people.

The reporter saw in Xuanyuan Lane in Changsha that more than ten vintage shops with different styles were set up along the street, and the selling prices of goods ranged from 60 yuan to 150 yuan, which became a new place for many young people to check in and consume.

Mao Jiaqi, a young Macao student at Hunan University, is a frequent visitor here. As a lover of vintage clothing, Mao Jiaqi often switches between the identities of "buyer" and "seller". She said that the second-hand market can not only meet her needs for low-cost shopping and beautiful photos, but also solve the problem of clothes being idle once they are worn.

"I was pleasantly surprised that the flea market in the mainland was so popular. In March this year, Mao Jiaqi took 30 pieces of unused clothing to the flea market on Zuoju Street and sold about 20 pieces at a price of about 4 percent. Mao Jiaqi bluntly said that compared with the happiness of making money, it is more fulfilling to share his "favorites" with buyers so that they can continue to circulate.

But second-hand trading isn't flawless. Zhang Qian shared that when she was in a second-hand transaction, she also had the experience of malicious refunds from buyers or sellers whose descriptions did not match the physical objects. "While both parties to the transaction improve their own screening ability and awareness of rights protection, they also hope that the second-hand trading system can continue to improve, so that China's 'second-hand economy' can also join the tide of 'global shopping'. Zhang Qian said.
