This new river with a total length of about 1,690 meters, starting from Shishan Road and ending at Kailai Garden, has effectively solved the problems of river flood safety, water body perception and ecological imbalance through multi-faceted and multi-dimensional rectification and improvement measures, which not only further improves the water quality of the river and enhances the surrounding living environment, but also skillfully integrates many Laoshan characteristic cultures into it, with a strong cultural atmosphere.
In terms of river improvement, the permanent water level of the river is maintained after dredging by adding dams and imitation wooden piles to protect slopes; at the same time, it is effective to "control the source and intercept pollution", rectify the sewage outlets along the river, put an end to sewage discharge into the river, and improve the water environment.
In terms of environmental improvement, trails and open spaces are added to improve traffic and enrich site functions, and bridges are beautified, focusing on the original metasequoia forest and vegetation characteristics, using arbors, ornamental grasses and other wet plants to perfectly reflect the scenery changes in early spring and autumn.
Laoshan has beautiful natural landscapes and profound cultural heritage. During the construction of the project, not only a variety of unique plants of Laoshan were selected, but also seed collectors were set up along the plank road along the river to popularize the knowledge of Laoshan flora and fauna and seeds, so that the public could have a deeper understanding of Laoshan culture in the process of viewing the scenery.
