After three months of meticulous renovation and three months of waiting for ventilation, we finally spent two months in our new home. Overall, the living experience was quite good, but I also found some small details that were not taken into account. 1. The design of the shoe cabinet in the entrance of the house, leaving the bottom blank is a wise choice. At the same time, it is not recommended to have a closed design for the doors of the shoe cabinet, and it is more desirable to use shuttered doors. This design not only allows the shoes to be well ventilated, but also effectively reduces odors and makes the hallway space more fresh and pleasant.
2. Whether it is a restaurant or other areas, it is recommended not to install lattice-like storage space. While some people may think that items can't be placed without a lattice, in reality, this design can easily accumulate dust and require frequent cleaning, which can be inconvenient for life. Therefore, when choosing a storage method, we should fully consider its practicality and ease of cleaning.
3. In terms of soft decoration design, it is recommended not to choose curtains that are too cheap. While it may feel affordable when purchased, it often results in poor visuals and may even feel harsh. Therefore, in order to create a comfortable and beautiful home environment, we should choose high-quality curtains with suitable styles.
4. If there is only one balcony in the home, it is recommended to set up a partition between the living room and the balcony. My house didn't install it at first, but I regretted it because guests could see the clutter of the balcony when they entered, so I finally installed a partition. Therefore, in order to keep the interior clean and orderly, and avoid the clutter of the balcony affecting the overall appearance, installing partitions is a wise choice.
5. The floor drain in my kitchen is pre-installed, but since it is a water-sealed floor drain, it needs to be watered regularly to keep it moist, otherwise it will produce an unpleasant smell once it dries. In fact, the practicality of this floor drain is not strong, and if there is no special need, it is recommended that it is better not to install it.
6. The bathroom is not designed to separate dry and wet, which leads to the inability of others to use the bathroom when taking a bath, and the ground will leave water stains after each bath, and the toilet is also easy to be splashed with water, which brings a lot of inconvenience to life.
7. When designing the children's room, it is important to fully consider the growth needs of the child, otherwise it may need to make major changes in the future. My children's room had a bay window, but it wasn't fully utilized, resulting in an awkward layout of the furniture. Since the children are too young to live independently, they can only be used as a study for the time being. However, the interior of the room appears cluttered and lacks aesthetics, so it is necessary to carefully arrange it to create a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing living environment that will satisfy both the child and himself.
