Scholars speak from the heart丨Rooted in the deep mountains and watching the sea

author:Chinese military network

Whenever I talk to my relatives and friends about being a naval soldier, they will wonder because I am an ammunition keeper, and I am a companion of the mountains and dense forests every day, and I am a friend of weapons and ammunition, and I cannot accept the test of wind and waves like other comrades.

Scholars speak from the heart丨Rooted in the deep mountains and watching the sea

When I see the sea, my heart is always excited, watching the waves crash on the beach again and again, never tireless, like the soldiers who stubbornly charge in waves until they reach the other side of victory.

I often hear the stories of my comrades-in-arms telling the stories of the coastal training, and I can't help but feel envious. Rooted in the mountains, I have never had the opportunity to see the magnificent waves of the sea and practice the vow of youth in the wind and waves. This made me very disappointed for a while, and even gave birth to the idea of leaving the army. It was the three bottles of sand that my comrades-in-arms sent me that changed my mind, these bottles contain salty seawater, as well as the sweat and strong friendship of my comrades-in-arms.

The first bottle of sand came from Fiery Cross Reef in Hainan, and my comrades-in-arms on the mission told me that the sky on Fiery Cross Reef is very blue, the beach is very soft, and the beautiful scenery makes people forget to leave. I know that all this is inseparable from the generations of naval officers stationed there, who have overcome danger and loneliness with perseverance and perseverance, and have risen to the challenge and stuck to the Nansha outpost.

The second bottle of sand came from the field training ground, which was sent back by the comrades when they were on a mission there. On the phone, they told me that under the extreme conditions of strong winds and waves, they drove the assault boat and challenged the sea again and again, even if the assault boat was overturned and everyone fell into the water again and again, they never gave up, and finally braved the wind and waves to overcome the difficulties and successfully completed the training task.

The third bottle of sand came from East Africa, and this bottle of sand was brought to me by a comrade-in-arms on an escort mission, who described that in that distant sea frontier, there was a lovely group of naval officers and sailors, who guarded the safety of passing ships and guided the direction of the wanderers, and were the brightest and most dazzling lighthouses. The naval officers stationed there faced a harsh environment, and we were like camel thorns, taking root and lush.

These three bottles of sand have taught me that without the idea of being deeply rooted, no matter how close to the sea we are, no matter what position I am in, I will not make a difference. Looking back, in fact, under the loneliness and loneliness of the deep mountains, it is the unrepentant dedication. In the midst of the clouds, I seemed to see the appearance of my comrades in the ammunition depot: they stood guard in the howling cold wind, counted supplies in the hot and humid cave depot, and chased snakes and insects on the deep grass and trees...... Just to be able to deliver ammunition safely, on time, and accurately at the moment when the order is given. This kind of silent dedication has made me realize the true meaning of the post - ordinary but indispensable.

Each post has its own mission and responsibility, whether stationed in the mountains or galloping on the sea, every soldier's contribution is meaningful. I used to yearn for the sea, and that was the starting point of my dreams. But now, I want to stay at my post and watch the peace of the sea in the mountains.
