Among them, the Guiyang ship, as the eighth ship of the Type 052D, was launched in 2015 and commissioned in 2019. Despite the fact that its full load displacement is also 7000 tons, its strength cannot be underestimated. In contrast, the vertical launch system of the Shijiazhuang ship is the "Reif" system purchased from Russia, and the whole ship has only 48 launch units. The Guiyang warship, on the other hand, has localized its main battle equipment, and the number of vertical launch units has increased to 64, and not only can a single unit store multiple missiles, but the overall structure is also closer to that of the US military, so the overall strength of the Guiyang ship is certainly much stronger than that of the Shijiazhuang fleet.

You must know that although Taiwan is a part of China, the reunification of the two sides of the strait has not yet been realized, and the cross-strait situation is becoming more and more tense under the manipulation of the DPP authorities. Therefore, many people will worry that allowing the Taiwan media to openly board the ship like this, or even report on the spot, will it cause serious damage to the secrecy of our equipment?
In fact, we can look at this from three perspectives. First of all, this shows the sincerity of the family on both sides of the mainland. Since this is an open day event, the media at home and abroad, and many people have the opportunity to board the ship, which naturally includes our people and media personnel on Taiwan Island. There should be no discrimination.
Second, the PLA has also made certain protective arrangements for some key parts of the warship. For example, communication units, radar units, weapons and equipment units, etc., are not open to the outside world. And some of the places that we were able to take out and open to everyone could basically look at them casually and take some pictures. And although the 052D missile destroyer belongs to the middle and upper reaches of the warships in the world, in the combat sequence of the PLA, it is actually not a particularly powerful equipment, and the combat power of our 055 is even more amazing.
Finally, against the backdrop of the recent frequent appearance of US military planes over the Taiwan Strait and the recent passage by the US House of Representatives of the Taiwan Aid Act, the PLA needs to strike at the "Taiwan independence" elements on the island from the side. Due to the Green Camp's control of public opinion and propaganda on the island, some people in Taiwan are actually unaware of the current disparity in strength between the two sides of the strait, and we have just taken advantage of the opportunity of the Taiwan media's boarding of the ship to convey the powerful strength of the PLA back to the island, which can not only arouse the national pride of people in Taiwan who support cross-strait reunification, but also further dismantle the "independence" atmosphere of the Taiwan authorities.
