World Book Day
World Book Day, also known as World Book Day, was originally conceived by the International Publishers Association. World Book Day is a great event for reading. April 23 this year is the 29th "World Book Day". Since the establishment of World Book Day, various activities have been held around the world to encourage reading on this day every year.

The origin of World Book Day
In 1996, the International Publishers Association (IPA) proposed the idea of World Book Day at its 25th Global Congress in Barcelona, and the Spanish government submitted the proposal to UNESCO.
Subsequently, Russia was of the view that the concept of copyright should also be added to World Book Day. As a result, the 28th session of the General Conference of UNESCO, held from 25 October to 16 November 1996, adopted 28 C/Resolution 3.18, officially designating 23 April as World Book and Copyright Day.
