Tamron also officially announced that it will develop the first RF mount lens 11-20mm f/2.8 Di III-A RXD (Model B060), which is suitable for large-aperture ultra-wide-angle zoom lenses for APS-C mirrorless cameras, and the release date is also within 2024.

The 11-20mm F2.8 is a constant F2.8 large-aperture zoom lens covering ultra-wide angles from 11mm to 20mm (equivalent to 17.6-32mm at 35mm full-frame). As a large-aperture ultra-wide-angle zoom lens, its compact and lightweight design matches the compact APS-C format mirrorless camera, making it ideal for everyday use. Although the lens is lightweight, the rigorous optical design still delivers excellent performance. In addition, the minimum shooting distance at 11mm at the wide-angle end is 0.15 m, and the maximum photographic magnification is 1:4, making it possible to take advantage of this amazing close-up capability to shoot wide-angle macro works with perspective anamorphic effects. In addition, the AF driver is equipped with a quiet RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepper motor unit, which reliably captures subjects not only in photo shooting, but also in video shooting. Coupled with outdoor protection features such as a simple drip-resistant mechanism and anti-smudge coating, this highly practical lens allows you to easily experience the high image quality of the ultra-wide-angle F2.8 aperture.

The officially announced cooperation between Sigma and Tamron must have been officially authorized by Canon, which also means that Canon has officially opened the RF mount to third-party manufacturers. Although the current lens is mainly APS-C format, it is believed that more lenses of specifications will arrive in the future.
