Yangtze Evening News, April 23 (Reporter Guo Yipeng, Correspondent Su Jiaoxuan) Recently, Lu drove a small passenger car along the Nanhai Highway in Qidong City, Nantong from west to east, and when he overtook the motor vehicle driving in the same direction in front of him, he collided with a light box truck that normally went straight to the Nanhai Highway 1KM and turned left to enter the gas station, causing damage to the two vehicles.
Due to the high speed of the car, the vehicle flew directly into the pond after the collision, but fortunately Lu was wearing a seat belt, so he was not injured. According to the traffic police, Lu bears full responsibility for the accident.
The traffic police said that Article 43, Paragraph 1 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China: For motor vehicles driving in the same lane, the rear vehicle should maintain a safe distance from the front vehicle sufficient to take emergency braking measures. In any of the following circumstances, no overtaking is allowed: (1) The vehicle in front is making a left turn, making a U-turn, or overtaking.
In response to this accident, the Jiangsu traffic police also issued a reminder to remember to control the speed when driving, abide by the speed limit, and do not overtake and change lanes when driving through curves, steep slopes, narrow roads and narrow bridges. The details are as follows:
1. Motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles should follow the principle of right-hand traffic when driving on the road.
2. If there is no division of motorized lanes, non-motorized lanes and sidewalks, motor vehicles pass in the middle of the road, and non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians pass on both sides of the road. On roads without a centre line, the maximum speed must not exceed 40 km/h.
3. If there are more than two motor lanes in the same direction of the road, the left side is the fast lane and the right side is the slow lane. Motor vehicles driving in the fast lane shall drive at the speed specified in the fast lane, and if they do not reach the speed specified in the fast lane, they shall drive in the slow lane. In the case of motorcycles, you should drive in the rightmost lane.
