According to the latest data released for the first quarter, the container throughput of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port increased by 20.4% year-on-year, and the cargo throughput increased by 4% year-on-year. The total import and export value of Xinjiang's foreign trade was 93.63 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 42.7 percent, ranking second in the country. Yunnan received 300 million tourists, with a total tourism expenditure of more than 390 billion yuan. In the first quarter of this year, the western region made a "good start" in many fields.

- In Gansu, the local government has deepened the use of the experience of the "Ten Million Project" and joined hands with Tianjin, Shandong and other places to build industrial parks, and continue to promote the increase of income of people lifted out of poverty.
- In Shaanxi, apples, fungus, tea and other characteristic industries have made farmers' pockets bulge, and this spring, the fiery flower-viewing economy has driven the deep integration of agriculture, culture and tourism.
- In Tibet, the construction of 220 plateau and beautiful villages is being accelerated, focusing on improving the level of rural industrial development, rural construction and rural governance.

- Sichuan leads the construction of a modern industrial system with scientific and technological innovation, introduces 10 supporting policies for improving the quality and multiplying the quality of six advantageous industries, and promotes the development of artificial intelligence and low-altitude economic industrial clusters.
- This year, Qinghai is expected to add more than 15 million kilowatts of clean energy, accelerating the construction of a channel for transmitting green electricity to the outside world.
- In Ningxia, the mainland's largest demonstration project for the entire carbon capture, utilization and storage industry chain is under construction, and the first phase will be put into operation in September. Ningxia has introduced a number of projects to extend the chain and strengthen the chain around new materials, modern chemical industries and other industries.

The number of China-Europe freight trains accounts for about half of the country's total, reaching 160 cities in 20 European countries. 6 pilot free trade zones and 40 comprehensive bonded zones will accelerate the creation of a new highland for opening up. In Chongqing, the logistics and operation organization center of the new western land-sea corridor, the assembly center of China-Europe freight trains, and the shipping center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River have been basically formed.
Li Yan, Deputy Director of Chongqing Port and Logistics Office: The new western land-sea corridor, the China-Europe freight train and the Yangtze River golden waterway have achieved seamless connection in Chongqing, continuously promoting the agglomeration of resource elements, promoting trade prosperity and industrial development, and driving a higher level of regional opening up.
In today's West, the green landscape is expanding:
- A total of more than 320 million mu of farmland has been returned to forests and grasslands, two national parks have been set up, the source of the three rivers and the giant panda have been established, and the main streams of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River have reached Class II water quality.
- In Guizhou, the implementation of returning farmland to forests, wetland restoration, and comprehensive management of rocky desertification has been stepped up, and ecological barriers have been further strengthened.
- In Inner Mongolia, spring afforestation has been fully rolled out, and 15 million mu of sand prevention and control are planned to be completed this year.
By 2035, the western region will basically realize socialist modernization, and strive to achieve complementary development of different types of regions, two-way opening up and coordinated progress between the east and the west, prosperity, security and stability in the ethnic border areas, and harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
