On the morning of April 22, the opening ceremony of HORA's first wholly-owned subsidiary in China, Holt Valve Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Holt Valve"), was held in Magnolia Plaza, marking the official settlement of this German "hidden champion" enterprise in Hongkou. Li Qian, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Oliver Viggin, Executive President and Chairman of HORA Germany, Yang Cheng, General Manager and Legal Person of HORA China, and Yang Siyan, After-sales Director of HORA Germany, attended the opening ceremony and jointly unveiled the company. Yang Cheng delivered a welcome speech. Chen Shuai, deputy head of the district, and Xia Jian'an, chairman and general manager of the German Center, delivered speeches respectively.
Holt Valve was established in Hongkou District in December 2023 and is the only wholly-owned subsidiary of HORA in China. As one of the largest control valve manufacturers in Germany, the company has become an important "hidden champion" enterprise in the industry with its exquisite German mechanical technology and high-end quality manufacturing concept, and is not only the winner of the German TOP100 Innovation Award, but also won the German Excellence Manufacturer Award, which is known as the "Oscar of Manufacturing" in the industry. The company regards Hongkou as the "first stop" for investment in China, which will create more vitality and business opportunities for the business development of German hidden champions in China.
Hongkou has long attached importance to exchanges and cooperation with Germany, and the two sides have achieved fruitful results in pragmatic cooperation in the fields of scientific and technological innovation and economic and trade exchanges. In July last year, the district held the Hongkou Tour of the world's "hidden champion" enterprises, and in November, the North Bund Night of the Docking Expo was held, and a number of German companies entered Hongkou and invested in Hongkou, which promoted a number of German enterprises and institutions such as HORA, OBO BETTERMANN, and the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA) to settle in Hongkou.
At present, Hongkou has gathered a number of regional headquarters and business headquarters of multinational enterprises from Germany, such as Siemens Industry Software, Senshi Haiya Group, Reynolds Group, and Messe Düsseldorf Group.
Hongkou is at the forefront of China's opening up. In recent years, Hongkou has been committed to accelerating the creation of new advantages in the development of an open economy, and currently nearly 2,000 foreign-funded enterprises in the region are funded from 75 countries and regions. Driven by various development promotion measures such as the release of high-quality building carriers on the North Bund and the headquarters policy, the concentration of headquarters enterprises in the region has accelerated, and the number of high-energy headquarters in the region has reached 84.
