Lianzhou Town is an important water resources protection area and basic farmland protection area in Zhuhai, is an agricultural town in Doumen District, with aquaculture and flower seedling planting as the leading agricultural industry, with a planting area of 5,400 mu of flower seedlings, accounting for 8.6% of the town's agricultural production area.
"In 2023, the total agricultural output value of our town will be about 1.905 billion yuan, of which the output value of the flower seedling industry will be about 27 million yuan, accounting for 1.4% of the total output value, and the yield of the flower seedling industry will be 4891 yuan / mu, which is only one-tenth of the yield of the aquaculture industry in the same period, and it is far lower than the benefits of the surrounding flower seedling industry. At the beginning of the symposium, Liu Guizhu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Lianzhou Town, exposed his own scandal.
In view of the current situation of the flower seedling industry in Lianzhou Town, Liang Shenhua, chairman of the Guangdong Flower Industrial Park Alliance, spoke first, he pointed out that there are several outstanding problems, one is scattered, chaotic, small, and the industry has no systematic overall planning; the second is the lack of leading enterprises to drive, and there is no resource aggregation effect; third, the varieties are backward, the market demand information is scarce, and the production and marketing are out of touch; New technology to improve planting efficiency, build nests to attract phoenixes, introduce new enterprises, build seedling storage bases, and extend the industrial chain.

"The same is seedling planting, the output value per mu of Lianzhou is 4,900 yuan, while the output value of Zhongshan Henglan per mu is more than 100,000 yuan, and the production efficiency is very different. Peng Changcao, dean of the College of Forestry and Landscape Architecture of South China Agricultural University, listed a set of data that shocked the guests present. It put forward four suggestions, one is to formulate a high-quality development plan for the flower and tree industry, pay attention to the top-level design of the industry, two to cultivate leading enterprises, give full play to the leading role of the industry, three to form a market-guided forcing mechanism, the market at the front end of production, four to form a talent resource gathering effect, strengthen cooperation with scientific research institutions, let science and technology lead the development of the industry.
Before the symposium began, the Lianzhou town government also organized a visit to the orchid production base of Zhuhai Yueshun Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a leading agricultural enterprise in Zhuhai City--- Shilong Lianxin Garden Flower Professional Cooperative and the project plot of the Agricultural Science and Technology Park Demonstration Zone.
