Jointly organised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the 2024 Hong Kong International Innovation and Technology Fair (HKIETC) came to a successful conclusion on 16 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The four-day exhibition attracted more than 88,000 buyers from 139 countries and regions, including Chinese mainland, India, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, the Middle East, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Exhibition Area
The Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Management Committee organized 12 leading enterprises in the frontier fields of science and technology, such as artificial intelligence models, intelligent robots, commercial aerospace, application chips and network security, to form the "Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park" pavilion to show Zhongguancun's scientific and technological innovation strength to the world and promote Zhongguancun's high-quality science and technology enterprises. Exhibitors negotiated with professional buyer teams, and at the same time connected with Hong Kong I&T institutions, universities, research institutes, etc., and achieved fruitful results.

The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Sun Dong, and the Hon Yung Hoi-yan, Mr Chan Siu-hung and the Hon Kep Pui-fan of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong visited the Zhongguancun exhibition area, listened to the product introductions of the exhibitors, and expressed that they would actively promote the cooperation between Beijing and Hong Kong in the field of science and technology innovation, give full play to the advantages of science and technology innovation resources of the two places, and achieve strong cooperation. International representatives such as Qatar Science and Technology Park and Thailand Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) also made a special trip to the Zhongguancun exhibition area for exchanges and docking, and expressed their great hope to carry out more in-depth cooperation with high-quality science and technology enterprises in Zhongguancun.
Exhibitor exchanges
During the four-day exhibition, the exhibition area of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park received more than 3,000 visitors, connected with more than 720 institutions and enterprises, and initially connected with more than 200 intended customers, which attracted the attention of institutions and professional buyer teams from Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Turkey, Canada, Thailand, India, Russia and other countries and regions.
In addition, during the exhibition, exhibitors were also organized to conduct in-depth docking with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and well-known enterprises in Hong Kong, and conducted extensive exchanges on school-enterprise cooperation, international development and market channel expansion. At the same time, enterprises were also organized to visit the Hong Kong Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, Invest Hong Kong and other institutions to gain an in-depth understanding of Hong Kong's science and technology innovation policies and market prospects.
