On April 20, the Central Plains Medicine Valley Construction and Development Conference was held in Song County, and the meeting focused on the development and construction of the "Central Plains Medicine Valley" and policy support, translational medicine and health development, traditional Chinese medicine culture and other aspects of in-depth discussions and exchanges, and sought common strategies for the construction and development of the Central Plains Medicine Valley, and discussed the high-quality development of the biomedical industry. Xu Hongxing, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of the Henan Academy of Sciences, Niu Gang, deputy mayor of Luoyang City, and Xin Junfeng, secretary of the county party committee, delivered a speech.
Xin Junfeng said in his speech that in recent years, Song County has adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, actively responded to the strategic deployment of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government to strengthen the province with traditional Chinese medicine, quickly integrated into the innovation ecosystem of the Henan Academy of Sciences, accelerated the construction of the biomedical industry "four beams and eight pillars", strengthened the three-level linkage of medicine, medical treatment and medical care, and committed to the integration of science and technology, culture and creativity, and digital innovation. We will continue to adhere to the guidance of science and technology, vigorously carry out interdisciplinary research on germplasm protection of traditional Chinese herbal medicines, extraction of active ingredients, creation of new drugs, and homology development of medicine and food, and strive to build a seven-in-one innovation ecosystem of Chinese medicine industry that integrates "government, industry, learning, research, medicine, health care and tourism". We will continue to strengthen the scale effect, and promote the standardized planting, large-scale development and chain improvement of the "six golden flowers" such as salvia, bupleurum, saponaria, forsythia, dogwood, and polygonatum polygonatum. We will continue to focus on cross-border integration, and promote the cross-border extension of the traditional Chinese medicine industry to health food, health tourism, health care and other fields in accordance with the idea of coordinated development of "medicine, medical treatment, nursing, food and tourism", and strive to build a large health industry system. Continue to highlight the theme of increasing income, establish a clear work orientation of "effectively increasing the income of the masses as heroes" in the county, and introduce 33 policies to enrich the people, build a strong Funiu Mountain Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Industrial Park, and reward and subsidy programs for agricultural characteristic industries, so as to realize the "double income increase" of the village collective and the masses. Song County will take this Zhongyuan Medicine Valley Construction and Development Conference as an opportunity to accelerate the promotion of the whole biomedical industry chain to a 100-billion-level industrial cluster, and contribute to the construction of a strong bioeconomic province. At the same time, I hope that all leaders, experts and scholars will put forward more insightful ideas, send more clever ideas, and come up with more high-quality ideas, so as to jointly make suggestions and guide the way for the construction and development of Zhongyuan Medicine Valley.
Xu Hongxing, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of the Henan Academy of Sciences, pointed out at the meeting that the convening of the conference on the construction of a strong province of traditional Chinese medicine in Henan Province marks the comprehensive sounding of the clarion call for the construction of a strong province of traditional Chinese medicine in Henan, and the Henan Academy of Sciences and the People's Government of Song County will make a strategic decision to cooperate in the construction of the Central Chinese Medicine Valley in 2023 with a perspective of nearly 10 years and a 30-year perspective, accurately grasp the development trend of traditional Chinese medicine in Henan Province, and win the strategic initiative in seizing the opportunity of high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine. Since the opening of the Zhongyuan Medicine Valley Science and Technology Innovation Park, 7 innovation centers have been built and 13 academician and expert teams have been introduced. Henan Academy of Sciences will closely combine the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine resources in Song County, learn and understand the spiritual essence of the provincial conference on the construction of a strong province of traditional Chinese medicine, strengthen the foundation with talents, seek results with integrity and innovation, and achieve results with scale development, and build Zhongyuan Medicine Valley into a science and technology innovation park with a complete innovation ecosystem of "R&D pilot + incubation acceleration + science and technology innovation fund + industrial operation".
Niu Gang, deputy mayor of Luoyang City, pointed out that in recent years, with the strong support of the Provincial Health Commission, the Provincial Academy of Sciences and other departments, Luoyang City has seized the industrial "outlet", regarded biomedicine as one of the 17 advantageous industrial chains focused on cultivating, and relied on more than 40 innovation platforms such as Zhongyuan Medicine Valley and Pleco P3 Laboratory, and vigorously carried out scientific and technological innovation and industrial layout in subdivided fields such as traditional Chinese medicine, biological vaccines, and diagnostic reagents, forming a modern pharmaceutical industry cluster brand with obvious resource advantages, outstanding characteristics and deep cultural accumulation. As the "leader" of the development of the city's Chinese herbal medicine industry, Song County relies on the high-quality germplasm resources of Chinese herbal medicines, excellent ecological environment and superior health tourism resources in Funiu Mountain, and actively integrates into the innovation ecosystem of the Henan Academy of Sciences. It is hoped that Song County will adhere to innovation and guidance, cultivate and develop new quality productivity, adhere to cluster development, shape a new business card for industrial revitalization, adhere to the integration of multiple industries, and build a large pattern of health care industry.
At the meeting, Lv Haiyong, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Songxian Advanced Manufacturing Development Zone, released the support policies for the construction of the Central Plains Medicine Valley and the investment promotion of key projects. The Central Plains Medicine Valley Industry Development Alliance, the Yiyin Culture Research Branch of the China Pre-Qin History Society, the Scientific Research and Production Base of Henan Agricultural University, and the Central Plains Medicine Valley Workstation of Henan Pharmaceutical Quality Management Association were unveiled at the meeting. The conference also released the unveiling of the leading projects, held the signing of key projects, and issued appointment certificates to the new expert team of Zhongyuan Medicine Valley. Zeng Changqing, an expert at the Conference on Translational Medicine and Health Development, Chief Scientist of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of Henan Academy of Sciences, and Du Yong, Vice President of the China Pre-Qin History Society, delivered speeches on "Yiyin and Traditional Chinese Medicine".
Before the meeting, the participants also went to the Zhongyuan Medicine Valley Science and Technology Innovation Park, the Zhongyuan Medicine Valley Salvia Planting Base, the Bupleurum Planting Base, the Forsythia Planting Base, and the Soapthorn Planting Base for investigation and inspection.
