A number of representatives of the wine industry delivered speeches at the opening ceremony, expressing their best wishes to the college and their will to forge ahead without forgetting their original aspirations.
At the meeting, 23 well-known experts and scholars gave invited reports, covering topics such as China's wine producing areas, suggestions for high-quality development of the wine industry, and the impact of nitrogen metabolism of wine yeast on production and fermentation kinetics and aroma.
More than 30 units and organizations, including Lincoln University in New Zealand, University of Adelaide in Australia, China Agricultural University, and COFCO Great Wall Wine Co., Ltd., sent congratulatory letters. More than 500 units and individuals donated money and materials for the construction and development of the college.
On the same day, the Chinese Wine History and Development Museum of Northwest A&F University opened on the North Campus of the university.
During the celebration, there will also be a number of activities such as the second meeting of the first session of the Council of the Institute of Modern Wine Industry, the opening ceremony of the China Wine History and Development Museum, the meeting of the China Wine Higher Education Alliance, the Wine Entrepreneur Forum, the Asian Wine Quality Competition, the Alumni General Assembly, the Alumni Report Meeting, and the Alumni Enterprise Special Job Fair.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the 90th anniversary of the founding of Northwest A&F University, and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Wine College. In this context, it is of great significance to study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech when he inspected the wine industry in Ningxia, and to discuss the high-quality development of the wine industry.
It is understood that the Wine College of Northwest A&F University was established on April 20, 1994, and its predecessor was the "Viticulture and Winemaking" major founded in 1985, which is the first wine college in Asia. Today, the college has become the world's largest wine college, more than 80% of the technical backbone of the national wine industry are from the college, and has cultivated more than 4,400 graduates and more than 10,000 professional and technical personnel for the society. Promote 22 colleges and universities in China to establish wine colleges or related majors, of which 80% of the training programs, 70% of the professional teaching materials, and 70% of the professional teachers are from the college.
