Kunqu Opera, Silk and Bamboo, Symphony, Chorus...... N kinds of Jiangnan music sounds, so that the audience is satisfied. The opening ceremony of the 6th Jiangnan Culture and Art International Tourism Festival and the theme concert of "Spring Warmth and Happiness in Jiangnan", which will be staged on April 25, are officially open today.
The concert was co-sponsored by the Suzhou Municipal People's Government and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and was held at the Grand Theater of the Suzhou Culture and Arts Center. At that time, the Suzhou Chinese Orchestra, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, and the Suzhou Wuyun Youth Art Troupe and Choir will join hands to present a harmonious and blended music feast for the audience.
The concert is divided into three parts: "Silk Rhyme Jiangnan", "International Symphony" and "Joyful Harmony".
The first part of "Silk Rhyme Jiangnan" is conducted by the famous conductor Peng Jiapeng and presented by the Suzhou National Orchestra. In addition to the well-known classic folk music repertoire such as "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" and "Jasmine Blossom", Wang Fang, a national first-class actor and winner of the "Second Plum" of the Plum Blossom Award for Chinese Theatre, was also invited to jointly perform the classic masterpiece "Peony Pavilion - Garden" of Kunqu Opera. The traditional romance and elegance flow in the sound of silk and bamboo, expressing the praise and love for the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River, bringing an audio-visual feast of Chinese aesthetics to the audience.
The next part of "International Symphony" is conducted by the national first-class conductor Chen Xieyang and performed by the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra. Classic movements of different eras and styles, such as "Fisherman's Song", "Carmen" and "Masquerade Suite", show the diversity and vitality of symphony in many aspects. It is worth mentioning that Master Chen Xieyang conformed to the trend of the times and adapted the tin opera "Double Tui Mo" into the symphony "Jiangnan Xing", integrating traditional tunes with Western classics and injecting fresh blood into traditional dramas.
The finale, "Joyful Harmony", will be presented by the Suzhou Wuyun Youth Art Troupe and the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, which will bring the audience "Greetings of Flowers", as well as the children's chorus and the classic children's song "We Are the Successors of Communism". The lyrics closely focus on the theme of "learning, inheriting and carrying forward the red spirit, and always ready to contribute to the cause of communism", expressing the deep feelings of young people in the new era for the party and the noble pursuit of life.
According to the organizers, the event is the opening event of the Jiangnan Culture and Art International Tourism Festival, and citizens and tourists can enjoy the discounts of "watching the show at half price" and "discounting digital currency" when purchasing tickets.
