It was a normal morning, and the mother made breakfast for the boy and watched the child go to school. Because it was only a few minutes from home to school, his mother did not accompany him to school, but followed the boy from a distance.

Later, the mother seemed to suddenly realize that something was wrong, and returned to the community to look for the child, and after going around, she just walked near the house and saw the boy falling from a tall building.

Surveillance on the roof showed that the boy had climbed up the low wall on the roof, and after a few seconds, had come down from the other side of the wall.

After hesitating at the drying rack for about half a minute, he climbed the low wall again, disappeared into the surveillance, and never returned.

After the incident, the child's parents and the elderly in the family were overwhelmed with grief and couldn't figure out why the child would rather die than go to school.

The boy is very loved by his parents at home, and he usually behaves very well-behaved and sensible, not like he has been wronged, is there something that happened at school that his parents don't know?

So the parents went to the school and saw the tip of the iceberg of the truth through the surveillance video. They watched more than twenty hours of video and found that the boy was punished 13 times in a week, an average of two or three times a day.

One morning, not long after the boy arrived at school, he was sent to stand for four classes. The homeroom teacher also inflicted corporal punishment on the students, often beating the boys' hands with sticks.

The boy's mother said he had been punished for writing 10,000 "grades" and filling an entire homework book. Children don't understand what is in the mouth of an adult, and will only take the teacher's instructions seriously.

When the father saw all this, he was both distressed and puzzled: he did not know what kind of mistake the child had committed to be punished like this.

For a 9-year-old child, such punishment and humiliation are already unbearable pain in life.

In 2020, the Ministry of Education promulgated the Rules on Disciplinary Conduct in Primary and Secondary Education to regulate teachers' educational and teaching behaviors. However, four years later, punishment methods such as punishments for copying, punishing stations, and beating hands are still common on primary and secondary school campuses.

It is often reported in the news that teachers in some schools have resorted to various non-compliant corporal punishments, such as making children squat on the ground for half an hour, squatting up 300, slapping, beating, and insulting and abusive children.

Why are more and more minors and elementary and middle school students committing suicide now?

First of all, there is a huge pressure on schoolwork, and children now need to master more, deeper, and broader knowledge than before, and the education volume has affected everyone.

There are no written assignments in the first and second grades of primary school, and the test results and rankings are not published in the upper grades, and children do not know how they are learning, and by the time they find out, they have begun to fail to keep up.

Secondly, today's children are generally precocious and can be exposed to a lot of adult-oriented and socialized information.

In the past, children did not have such a developed Internet and social media, almost did not understand what was happening in the outside world, and rarely heard rumors of suicide, even when they were sad and sad, they usually did not think of dying.

Now, as long as a child understands that a child about his age commits suicide because of academic problems, he will use suicide as a subconscious choice and schedule it at any time.

Every year at the beginning of the school season, primary and secondary school students commit suicide in groups, not only because children have to face a heavy burden of schoolwork, but also because there is a certain degree of imitation effect.

Finally, the child's life circle and circle of friends are relatively small, and they lack support from their peers, which makes it difficult to resolve when they encounter pressure and grievances.

Every graduation season, it is common to see the news of college students committing suicide or taking revenge because of failing their courses, delaying their graduation, some students driving on a rampage in school because they can't get their graduation certificates, and some students holding grudges and killing teachers because they were suspended by their teachers.

Such an incident would seem appalling to many people in their thirties and forties.

At least 10 years ago, college students were even a trivial matter worth mentioning, and many people thought that it was okay to retake the course, and it didn't matter if they couldn't finish it, because it was not difficult to find a job, and it was relatively easy to go to graduate school and go abroad, so the importance of grades was not obvious.

However, in the era of highly involuted education, failing a course means being unemployed after graduation, which is like a thunderbolt from the blue, which is unbearable.

Times are really different, and even though corporal punishment has been used for thousands of years, teachers cannot treat children today in the same way that they used to treat students.
