As one of the series of brand activities of Shenzhen Design Week, the 2nd Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Creative Design Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "Youth Innovation Competition") has also officially come to an end. On April 21, the award ceremony of the 2nd Youth Innovation Competition was held in the South Campus of Shenzhen Senior High School (Group). On the same day, more than 500 guests and relevant persons in charge from Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as young students and teacher representatives from Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao attended the award ceremony.

Since its launch on October 14, 2023, the 2nd Youth Entrepreneurship Competition has used design as a medium to link young people in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao, strengthen exchanges and in-depth understanding, and serve the national strategy of "one country, two systems", which has aroused enthusiastic responses in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao, attracting hundreds of thousands of students and teachers from hundreds of schools in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao to participate. According to statistics, 647 schools in the three places directly participated in the competition, including 421 in Shenzhen, 198 in Hong Kong and 28 in Macao, and a total of 6,078 entries were submitted in the three places, including 4,541 entries from primary and secondary schools in Shenzhen, 1,269 works from primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong, and 268 works from primary and secondary schools in Macao.

After fierce competition, a total of 128 winning individuals or teams in the Rising Star Group and Emerging Group were finally selected, including 8 Best Instructors/Mentoring Teams and 4 Best Organization Awards.

At the award ceremony of the 2nd Youth Innovation Competition, an award performance with the theme of "Run, Bay Area Youth" pushed the whole award ceremony to a climax. The award ceremony is divided into 5 chapters, including the opening program "I Want to Sing Me to You", the first chapter "Running to the Sun", the second chapter "Running and Chasing the Light", the third chapter "Running, Chasing Dreams", and the epilogue "Run, Bay Area Youth". The whole program embodies the profound meaning of Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao to create and integrate, exchange and blend, create the future, and write a new chapter.

Compared with the first competition, the second Youth Entrepreneurship Competition has the characteristics of wide participation, strong professionalism and great influence, showing that the platform of the Youth Entrepreneurship Competition has a far-reaching impact on stimulating the enthusiasm of young people in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao for innovation and creativity, and promoting the exchange and integration of young people in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao.

With the theme of "Exchange and Integration, Imagine the Future", the 2nd Youth Entrepreneurship Competition aims to promote extensive exchanges, comprehensive exchanges and in-depth integration among young people in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao, enhance the centripetal force and sense of identity of Hong Kong and Macao young people towards the motherland, and support Hong Kong and Macao young people to integrate into the overall development of the country. The competition collects works in four categories, including new scientific and technological inventions, creative new media, new perspectives of design, and new world of science fiction, and sets up two groups: the rising star group (grades 4 to 6 of primary school) and the emerging group (junior high school, high school, technical secondary school, vocational high school, vocational high school), and each group has 4 gold awards, 8 silver awards, 12 bronze awards, 20 excellence awards, and 20 nomination awards, for Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao teenagers under the age of 19. The judging panel of the competition is jointly formed by 12 experts invited from Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao, and the evaluation criteria are mainly divided into four dimensions: practicality, innovation, logic and forward-looking. After two days of intense judging in Shenzhen on March 23 and 24, the jury finally selected all the winning works.

After nearly five months of publicity, mobilization and participation, the competition received a total of 6,078 entries from primary and secondary school students in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao. After fierce competition, Qiu Xunxi from Shenzhen Longhua School Education Group affiliated to East China Normal University won the gold medal in the rising star group (i.e. primary school group) with his work "I am a photon", Liu Yiyang from Shenzhen Liannan Primary School with his work "tumbler" to prevent spillage trays, Situ Ziyang from Hong Kong Po Leung Kuk Jintai Primary School and other 3 students with his work "I want to stretch my chest", and Ruan Yulan and other 4 students from the Third Foreign Chinese School in Longhua District, Shenzhen won the gold medal in the rising star group (i.e. primary school group) with their work "Shenzhen Window Handbook".

Eleven students including Ye Jianwei from Longlan School in Longhua District, Shenzhen won the Silver Award in the Rising Star Group; 20 students including Lam Ka Ho, Sin Man Ho and Tam Tsz Hin from Ap Lei Chau Kaifang School in Hong Kong, and Peng Yanqi from Meili Primary School in Futian District, Shenzhen won the Bronze Award in the Rising Star Group; 30 students including Li Tianyun and Shum Pak Yin from the Affiliated Primary School of Macau Laoxiao Middle School, and Liao Zhengyu from Shenzhen Guangming District Foreign Chinese School won the Excellence Award in the Rising Star Group; and 31 students including Li Qiqi from Shenzhen US-China School won the Nomination Award in the Rising Star Group.

In terms of the emerging group (middle school group), Jin Yichen, a student from Tongxin Foreign Chinese School in Pingshan District, Shenzhen, won the gold medal in the new perspective design category, Han Huixin and Han Huilin from Shenzhen Longhua District Foreign Chinese School Education Group (High-tech Campus) won the gold medal in the science fiction new world category, and Luo Jinhao, Zhao Chenye, Fang Yixuan and Li Peiye from Vanke Meisha Academy, Shenzhen International Exchange Academy and Huitong School brought the work "Water Garbage Collection Robot" It won the Gold Award in the New Technology Invention Category of the Emerging Talent Group, and the work "Anywhere, Anytime - Virtual St. Paul's" by Wang Zhixing and Zhao Chonghe from Pui Ching Secondary School in Macau won the Gold Award in the Creative New Media Category. It is reported that during the Shenzhen Design Week, the Organizing Committee of the Youth Innovation Competition will hold an exhibition of outstanding works.
