Three rounds of applications are open

There are generally three rounds of applications for Royal Arts, the second round of applications closed on February 14, 2024, and on the same day, the third round of applications officially opened.
Unlike last year's "no DDL" situation, this year's deadline for the three rounds of applications is 14 August 2024, at 12:00 noon UK time.
However, the official website also indicates: Majors with sufficient enrollment will be closed when full.
If there is no fourth round (after all, there was a temporary fourth round of applications in 22), this will be the last chance to get on the bus this year, so everyone must hurry up and submit as soon as possible to grab a spot.
When submitting the application, Huangyi must first fill in the basic information online on the official website, and then upload the portfolio according to the email instructions;
In addition, you will need to submit: a 300-word written statement, a short video of your appearance that is no more than two minutes, and a written letter of recommendation.
In terms of language, the requirements for MA/MRes are IELTS 6.5 (6.0 in writing, 5.5 in the rest), or TOEFL 92 (23 in writing, 20 in the rest), or PTE62 (59 in writing, 51 in the rest).
In addition, the second round of applications for MPil and PhD degrees at the PhD level is also underway, and the deadline is 28 July 2024, 12:00 noon UK time.

- (2) You can only apply once for the same major, and you cannot apply for it multiple times!!

(3) In the 2024 application season, applicants can apply for up to 2 different courses, and each application project needs to submit a separate portfolio!!
If your application is rejected, the school will recommend other suitable majors for admission depending on the situation (in other words, if both majors you applied for are rejected, you may be admitted to a major that you did not apply for)
The update of the application rules shows that the Huangyi School has found that some applicants are "exploiting loopholes", after all, if you search on a certain hu, a certain petal, or a certain book, you will find that a large number of marketing accounts are teaching you how to exploit the loopholes of famous schools, such as:
After the first batch is rejected, the next batch can get an offer by changing the number and applying again, or "casting a wide net to focus on fishing", and the more majors you apply, the better, and so on.
These "crooked ways" are not so simple in actual operation, the documents and portfolios are not up to standard, and it is useless to package and change faces;
And this year, Huangyi has plugged these loopholes from the root.
The reason why Huangyi, who is the No. 1 in the QS discipline for 10,000 years, is forced to take this step is probably because too many students blindly apply every year, whether it is for the admissions team or the admission system staff, it is a waste of time and energy.
Among the three rules updated this time, the first two are to eliminate the phenomenon of blind brush application, which is easier to understand, but the second half of the third article is a little confusing:
- Applicants can apply for up to 2 different programs, and each program needs to submit a separate portfolio, and if the application is rejected, the school will recommend other suitable majors for admission according to the situation
The information revealed behind this sentence is actually that Huangyi does not encourage applicants to apply for multiple majors at the same time, so Huangyi also added a warm reminder under the three requirements:
"If you wish to apply to more than one major, please carefully check which two majors you really want to apply for. ”
This may sound a bit unbelievable, but it is actually closely related to the different admission situations of various colleges and majors of Huangyi.
In the previous UK master's application, students could get offers from multiple universities and majors at the same time, but in the end, they could only enroll in one major of one institution, and the institutions could not accurately recruit students.
Many students are struggling with the offer, and the institution cannot extend the quota to the students on the Waiting List, which leads to the fact that they may receive the admission very late, or even be unable to actually enroll;
As a result, the admission rates of different majors vary greatly from such popular colleges as Huangyi, and some unpopular majors cannot even complete the enrollment plan.
Among the three requirements of this update, the significance of the existence of the third one is to give more qualified applicants the opportunity to fill the vacancies of relatively unpopular majors in Huangyi, and it is also to give students who fail to apply for one more chance to go to Huangyi.

How to deal with it

Although it is still early to apply for DDL in the third round, since the popular majors of Huangyi will be full in the first round of applications, we still recommend that everyone in the third round of application or "the sooner you get on the bus, the better".
After all, the three rounds of application are already the last train, and the remaining places in each major are very limited.
However, even though we are catching the last train, we also need to submit our application on the premise of "sufficient preparation of materials", rather than blindly following the trend because we failed the graduate school entrance examination.
The "premise of adequate material preparation" mentioned here includes three aspects:
1. Select the theme of the portfolio that Huangyi likes
A good theme is half the success of the portfolio, especially for an institution of the level of Huangyi, if the theme is not deep enough and does not closely follow the topic areas that Huangyi is concerned about, no matter how wonderful the details are, it will not help.
According to the "2022-2027 Five-Year Plan" released by Royal Arts in the summer of 2022, Royal Arts will achieve breakthroughs from three levels: "Research and Social Challenges", "Teaching Excellence and Student Experience", and "School-Enterprise Cooperation and Innovation":
