According to the CCTV news client, the Office of the Xi'an Municipal Safety Production Committee issued a notice in the early morning of the 21st that at about 23:50 on April 18, 2024, Xi'an Metro Line 10 was conducting a vehicle type test on the test route, due to the improper operation of the commissioning personnel of the vehicle company, a vehicle rear-end accident occurred, resulting in the unfortunate death of 1 person and 2 injuries to the company's test personnel.
The accident is a safety production liability accident. After the accident, Xi'an City has set up an accident investigation team to conduct an in-depth investigation. The Xi'an Municipal Safety Committee Office requires Xi'an Rail Transit Group to strengthen the overall management of safety, and Xi'an CRRC Changke Rail Co., Ltd., the vehicle commissioning party, must fulfill its main responsibility, standardize the operation process, and conscientiously draw inferences from one case to another, so as to prevent the recurrence of such accidents.
Xi'an Metro Line 10 started construction on July 1, 2020, with a total length of about 34.418 kilometers and a design maximum speed of 100 km/h. It will be ready for initial operation in September 2024.
