The 2025 Mercedes AMG GT63 SE Performance is just around the corner, and all indications are that it's worth the wait. Mercedes-Benz AMG has just unveiled the 2025 AMG GT63 SE Performance sports car in Shanghai. Those who are familiar with the Mercedes AMG know that E Performance is the name of the company's hybrid. Its maximum power is a staggering 805 horsepower, which makes it the fastest accelerating AMG production model ever for Mercedes.
From the outside, it's hard to tell the E Performance version apart from the standard AMG GT63 unless you're close. The new GT Ultimate features a hybrid V-8 powertrain that makes a staggering 805 horsepower. The fuel power alone puts out 603 horsepower, and the hybrid powertrain puts out a total of 1,047 pound-feet of torque.
The interior accentuates the sporty character of the model, with standard electrically adjustable AMG sports seats with a high level of lateral support. However, customers can opt for an optional AMG performance seat with integrated headrest and backrest vents, offering three massage programs. Manufaktur Nappa leather upholstery with diamond stitching or Nappa leather and microfiber with red or yellow contrast stitching and a hand-stitched steering wheel are also available. There are also deep plush floor mats, a unique pattern on the illuminated door sill panels, as well as the "Manufaktur" branding and MBUX infotainment system on the centre console, as well as an exclusive menu for AMG Performance.
10-spoke 20-inch wheels in tantalum gray finish are standard, and 21-inch wheels are available. Behind the hub are bronze six-piston fixed front calipers and single-piston floating rear calipers. Clamped to carbon-ceramic brake discs, they measure 16.5 inches at the front and 15.0 inches at the rear, and their lightweight construction manages to reduce the extra weight. Each front fender will have an "E Performance" badge.
The SE Performance sports car is instantly recognizable on the road. The rear has an integrated charging port door for the hybrid system. The "GT 63 S" model badge will be shown in red, while there will be twin trapezoidal exhaust pipes at the rear.
The new E Performance system pairs a 603-horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine with a rear-mounted electric motor. A permanent magnet synchronous electric motor produces 201 horsepower, which is sent to the wheels via a two-speed gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Powering the electric motor is a lightweight 6.1 kWh AMG-specific battery that sits above the rear axle and has a direct cooling system that delivers a special liquid around each 560 battery to maintain a consistent temperature and improve battery performance.
Mercedes-Benz says the new E Performance will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 km/h. There are eight different driving modes, including all-electric setup, Sport, Sport+, and Race. The hybrid AMG also features four levels of battery regeneration, including a mode similar to one-pedal driving in an electric car. It's a goosebump-inducing supercar.
Mercedes modified the aerodynamics of the AMG GT63 SE Performance, adding a new element of carbon to the underbody in front of the engine. At speeds of 80 km/h, the component is lowered by about 1.6 inches, creating a venturi effect that pulls the car down and reduces lift at the front end. The E Performance is also equipped with a retractable rear spoiler that rises at speeds in excess of 80 km/h and can alternate between five different angles to improve stability or minimize drag.
Mercedes hasn't revealed any pricing details yet, but that could happen when it launches later this year. Before the 2026 S version model hits the market, though, it should be the most expensive in the GT Coupe lineup.
