As of April 11, PetroChina's first "airspace sentinel" pilot unit for oil and gas safety production has been steadily using UAV intelligent patrol technology for nearly two months. The project designates Xinjiang Oilfield as the only pilot unit of China National Petroleum Corporation for unified planning and layout, and has fully completed the construction project of "one station with multiple machines, one machine with multiple stations" and a single signal coverage radius of 100 kilometers, so as to achieve full coverage of wireless signals in the oil area of the Junggar Basin.
The UAV intelligent patrol project is a scientific research project innovatively established by the China National Petroleum Corporation Safety and Environmental Protection Technology Research Institute in full combination with the development needs of Xinjiang oilfield production and construction, multi-faceted oil areas, new energy development acceleration and emergency disposal "half-hour circle". The project is led by the Production and Operation Department of Xinjiang Oilfield Company, and the Xinjiang Oilfield Team of PetroChina Fire Emergency Rescue is responsible for promoting the implementation, relying on more than 10 firefighting duty stations in the oilfield jurisdiction to deploy UAV patrol forces.
Xinjiang Oilfield uses low-altitude airspace to expand and research the application of UAVs in the oil and gas industry, gives full play to the advantages of intelligent unmanned equipment, combines the regional characteristics of Xinjiang Oilfield, and uses UAVs equipped with lidar, visible light or infrared thermal imaging equipment systems to carry out laser scanning of oil and gas field production equipment and facilities from multiple angles. Detection and refined inspection, while greatly improving the efficiency of oil and gas field production inspection, quickly guide front-line operators to eliminate hidden dangers found, avoid line accidents, and ensure the safe operation of oilfield production.
Since the implementation of the project at the beginning of 2023, Xinjiang Oilfield has equipped with UAV remote take-off and landing and cross-regional flight management mode, realizing full coverage of wireless signals in the 130,000 square kilometers of jurisdiction around the Junggar Basin, and solving more than 190 difficult and painful problems caused by desert belly, road obstruction and limited field vision.
In the future, Xinjiang Oilfield UAV intelligent patrol technology will continue to deepen the application of digital intelligence, and strive to realize the AI intelligent identification algorithm and UAV autonomous inspection technology for single well and long-distance pipeline in the oilfield in 2024, focus on breaking through the closed-loop management of UAV inspection at natural gas stations, accelerate the construction of "digital intelligent oilfield", and use scientific and technological innovation to contribute to ensuring national energy security and helping high-quality development.
