As the hometown of Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang, Taizhou, Jiangsu Province, has been committed to creating "Mei Lang's hometown and opera holy land" in recent years. This year, the "Mei Lanfang Art Award" was also established for the first time.

On the evening of October 23, at the opening ceremony of the Taizhou Mei Lanfang Art Festival, the organizer announced the winners of the first Taizhou "Mei Lanfang Art Award".

Guo Wei and Shi Xiaming were awarded the Performing Arts Gold Stars, Chen Xiang, Tang Da and Yan Hongyu were awarded the Performing Arts Silver Stars, and Ji Chunyan, Chen Qunyao, Yang Cheng, Zhang Yijin and Zhou Meiling were awarded the Performing Arts Rising Stars.

According to the organizers, the Taizhou "Mei Lanfang Art Award" has been selected by experts, on the one hand, hoping to select the leading figures in the opera industry who are both virtuous and artistic, inheriting the master's art and personality charm; on the other hand, by launching young outstanding opera talents, we will strive to create a "plum blossom award" weather vane.

After the opening ceremony of the Taizhou Mei Lanfang Arts Festival, Taizhou also held a special opera performance evening, mr. Shang Xiaoyun's son, Peking Opera Flower Face, the first "Plum Blossom Award" winner Shang Changrong, the National Peking Theatre veteran yu Kuizhi, Meipai Da Qingyi Li Shengsu and other opera masters jointly performed to pay tribute to Master Mei Lanfang.

"Taizhou Prefecture built the Southern Tang Dynasty, Wenchang Northern Song Dynasty, with profound cultural heritage, famous and sages, and Mei Lanfang, the master of Peking Opera art, is one of the outstanding representatives. This year marks the 60th anniversary of Mr. Mei's death, and we pay tribute to the master in the name of art! Zhu Lifan, secretary of the Taizhou Municipal Party Committee, said.

Zhu Lifan said that as Mr. Mei's hometown, Taizhou inherits the spirit of the master, builds a famous cultural city, promotes the combination of excellent cultural genes and modern civilization, and cultural construction continues to step up to a new level. Since its inception in 2008, mei lanfang arts festival has become one of the most influential art events in the Chinese theater industry and one of the most iconic city business cards in Taizhou.
