Gao Yanjie, a sociology major at the China Institute of Labor Relations, talks about Esperanto learning

I am Gao Yanjie from the China Institute of Labor Relations, majoring in sociology, and I am very honored to attend the conference held by the Beijing Esperanto Association, and I have the opportunity to have a close exchange with senior Esperanto speakers. I became associated with Esperanto in the army, and during my service, an old squad leader taught himself Esperanto for many years, and often shared stories related to Esperanto culture with us, which made me realize that Esperanto is a language of all mankind, and it represents the spirit of human unity, internationalism and the beautiful vision of globalization, and the seeds of Esperanto have been quietly sown in my heart.

I am very happy that this year I have had the opportunity to learn this language systematically. I have been learning Esperanto for a month and a half since the beginning of March this year, and in the process, I realized that it is not just learning a language, but also opening a window into the world and allowing us to experience the diversity of colors in the interweaving of languages and cultures. Due to the special nature of its artificial language, Esperanto synthesizes the characteristics of European languages, so after learning Esperanto, you will feel very familiar and more relaxed when you come into contact with other European languages.

At the same time, during the conference and in my exchanges with the older generation of Esperantoists, I could feel their love and deep feelings for Esperanto. They are the witnesses and promoters of the development of Esperanto in China, and they have devoted their lives to the spread of this culture. At the same time, they also expressed their high expectations for the new generation of Esperanto speakers, passing on this responsibility and mission. I would also like to do my part to contribute to the future of Esperanto!
