On April 19, according to the latest news from Thai media, the police finally identified the criminal after multiple investigations, and arrested him in an apartment parking lot in the Tha Sala area of Chiang Mai on the 18th. Preliminary investigation revealed that the offenders were Pudi, a 39-year-old man, and Adisa, a 45-year-old man. At the same time, the police seized several suitcases on the spot, which contained 8,000,000 baht, 4,000,000 baht, 12,000,000 baht, 2,000,000 baht, and 4,100,000 baht in cash with a face value of 1,000 baht.
At the same time, another 6,000,000 baht was hidden in a cabinet in a drawer, and 983,000 baht was packed in a plastic bag, including a number of jewellery pieces were seized. According to the police, a total of 36.98 million baht in cash was seized in the arrest, and as for the case, it happened late at night on April 11, while the stolen mansion was located in the Mae Hia area of Chiang Mai.
That night, the criminals broke into the mansion and stole about 38.7 million baht in cash, 15 gold-encrusted Buddha medallions worth more than 15 million baht, more than 300 precious Buddhist medals worth more than 20 million baht, and other gold medals worth more than 1 million baht, with a total value of 76 million baht.
After his arrest, the offender confessed to the theft and admitted that he had a close relationship with the owner of the house and had been doing business together for 10 years. It is understood that the victim is a construction contractor who has a large amount of cash on hand due to the purchase of houses, apartments and other buildings and then resale. In the past two years, they have had some discord in business, which caused them to be very dissatisfied, believing that they did not get the money they deserved, so they planned the theft.
