On March 25 this year, the State Council approved the opening of Hubei Ezhou Huahu Airport to the outside world. Ezhou Huahu Airport has become the first professional cargo hub airport in China to be approved for opening to the outside world, setting a record for the fastest temporary opening and official opening of domestic airport air ports in recent years.

In Hubei, multimodal transport networks such as rail-water combined transport, river-sea combined transport, water-water direct transport, road-rail combined transport (China-Europe train), water-land ro-ro and land-air combined transport have taken shape. As of March this year, Huahu Airport has opened a total of 14 international cargo routes, covering North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia, playing an increasingly important role in building a new highland for inland opening up in Hubei.
As the central hub of the golden waterway of the Yangtze River and the north-south corridor, Hubei strives to enhance its function as an open hub and accelerate the construction of a "thoroughfare of Kyushu" in the new era: the length of Hubei's third-class and above waterways will reach 2,090 kilometers, the cargo throughput of Hubei Province will exceed 200 million tons for the first time in 2023, and the total length of Hubei's comprehensive transportation network will reach 329,000 kilometers.
