The "Reading and Reading" national reading promotion brand was established by Qingpu Library in 2012, and in 2013, it successfully established a demonstration project of Shanghai's public cultural service system. Under the careful guidance of the Propaganda Department of the District Party Committee and the District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, after 12 years of development and improvement, the "Qingyue Pu Reading" national reading brand has become a cultural business card of Qingpu District, insisting on year-round, normalization and institutionalization, and has become an engine to promote the in-depth development of national reading. Every year, we take important nodes such as World Book Day and Shanghai Book Fair as an opportunity to carefully plan a series of public welfare reading activities for the people.
At the opening ceremony of 2023, the Poetic Jiangnan • Classic Companion Activity was grandly held, kicking off the reading season.
The closing event "Library Classic Night - Voice of the Pre-Qin Dynasty" perfectly integrated classic documents and regional culture through innovative forms such as short videos of VCR cultural relics and melodramas, presenting an immersive cultural feast, with 11,000 real-time live viewers, and more than 140 activities were held throughout the reading season, serving more than 220,000 people in total, demonstrating the strong influence of the reading brand.
Caring for special groups and protecting the rights and interests of reading.
Always pay attention to the reading needs of special groups, especially children. Promote parent-child reading in families through extended winter and summer vacation services, picture book story clubs, and youth roundtable reading clubs. At the same time, it has carried out reading gift package activities to provide reading care for children with special needs, and has served more than 500 families of special children so far.
Enrich literature resources and strengthen digital services.
In 2023, there will be 69,701 licensed readers in Qingpu District, and 920,000 physical literature will be borrowed, an increase of 7.28% and 145.77% respectively from the previous year. Relying on the rich collection resources of Qingpu Library, the construction of smart libraries in the whole region has been continuously accelerated, with the total number of visits to digital resources exceeding 1.46 million and the number of fans of Qingpu Library's WeChat subscription account increasing to 56,000, a year-on-year increase of 37.06%. 35 online reading activities were successfully held, with 310,000 views.
Excavate local literature and inherit cultural development.
Relying on authoritative resources such as the evidence-based platform of ancient books of Shanghai Library and the national edition data center, a total of 111 precious documents such as "Qingpu Poetry Biography" have been sorted out, laying a solid foundation for the in-depth research and inheritance of local literature. At the same time, a series of local literature exhibitions were held, such as the exhibition of the works of Qingpu historian Yang Kuan, highlighting the profound heritage of Qingpu culture.
Deepen vertically to create a new type of cultural space.
With the core concept of "small but beautiful, embedded, and community integration", a unique new reading space such as Qingxi Study Room and Qingxi Micro Book Pavilion has been created. Up to now, 6 Qingxi study rooms and 15 Qingxi micro-book kiosks have been successfully established, with a total service area of more than 2,000 square meters, providing more than 50,000 books to read, which has greatly enriched the "15-minute" cultural life circle of citizens.
Horizontal linkage to strengthen regional cooperation and exchanges.
Completed the construction of the online display platform of the Yangtze River Delta Integrated Reading Alliance, and realized the accurate docking and cooperation and sharing of resources. The "Poetic Jiangnan" Yangtze River Delta Ancient Town Cultural Tracing Series was planned, creating an immersive experience of ancient rhyme and calligraphy. In addition, 4 cultural visits with the participation of parent-child families were successfully organized, which further promoted the in-depth integration of culture and tourism.

As a leader in national reading, Qingpu Library has not only deeply cultivated the "reading + aesthetic education" model, successfully held 29 series of aesthetic education activities, but also actively expanded the boundaries of cooperation with schools and society, highlighting the value of social education. With the help of cultural events such as the Yangtze River Delta Reading Marathon, the brand influence is increasing day by day. Join hands with famous children's writers to create an interactive space for children's reading, and take academic exchanges to a new level. In addition, with the deep integration of innovation and exploration with various forms of society, "Qingtu Coffee" has become a new entrance to the "traffic" of reading, injecting more creativity and vitality into the form of reading.
Governance innovation, build a solid foundation for talent development.
Talent is the core engine of national reading. By building an interactive mechanism of "talent + project", we will promote new breakthroughs in academic research with project-based management. Librarians have published a number of high-quality papers in academic journals to provide theoretical support for national reading. The training course for children's reading promoters has been fruitful, and 475 reading promoters with both theoretical and practical abilities have been trained, becoming an important social force in promoting the popularization of reading.
