According to Thai media news, on April 19, Thai Prime Minister and Finance Minister Saita visited Phuket Province, during which he was interviewed by reporters and responded to the suspension of the deputy director of the Thai National Police.
Saita said that he had been transferred to the government building to assist in the work before, and that there had been an investigation three to four weeks ago, after which the acting commissioner (Giraldi) came to inquire about him and wanted to transfer him back to the police station for further work. When asked by reporters whether the move was related to a specially set up commission of inquiry, Saita said it was only a fact-by-case investigation and that there were many matters to be investigated, including Administrator Doza.
Therefore, he did not want to continue to put pressure on the matter, so he left it all to the judicial process, and no one would interfere or urge. He also expressed confidence in the competence of the three investigators, as the matter is under constant scrutiny. As to whether the suspension was to prevent him from interfering with the investigation, Saita said that according to the acting commissioner, the matter was in accordance with the judicial process and was handled within the police department.
Finally, when asked by reporters about the progress made in the case of Commissioner Dosa compared to that of Deputy Commissioner Surache, Saita said that both things are different and that he is confident in the judicial process because the National Police will give justice to everyone.
