Today, China Telecom released its latest operating data. As of March 2024, China Telecom had 411.65 million mobile subscribers, a net increase of 1.91 million in the month, and 328.72 million 5G package subscribers, a net increase of 4.66 million in the month.
In addition, China Telecom's wired broadband subscribers reached 192.22 million in March, a net increase of 590,000 in the month, and the number of fixed telephone subscribers was 100.26 million, a net decrease of 0.3 million in the month.
In addition, the announcement shows that in the first quarter of 2024, China Telecom will have a net increase of 3.88 million mobile subscribers, a net increase of 10.06 million 5G package subscribers, a net increase of 2.06 million wired broadband subscribers, and a net decrease of 760,000 fixed telephone subscribers.
Previously, China Telecom had pointed out that it plans to spend 96 billion yuan in capital expenditure in 2024. In order to build a 4G/5G shared network with leading experience, efficiency and technology, it is planned to invest 29.5 billion yuan (30.7%) in mobile networks, 16 billion yuan (16.7%) in broadband networks to continuously expand gigabit optical network coverage and upgrade bearer network capacity, and 14.1% in operating systems and infrastructure.
