"Completed in the 29th year of the Republic of China, this library can survive forever; there are more than 3,000 volumes collected, who can read them all?" In 1938, the Cangyi Library was founded by Mr. Yan Zizhen, the founder of the Xizhou merchant gang "Yongchangxiang", and the Cangyi Library placed 3,064 kinds of 10,613 books and most of them were rare books, 19 libraries, and the outdoor reading platform was surrounded by marble railings, and the flowers and plants were widely planted.

In Dali, every village has a big green tree, and the Cangyi Library under the shade of the 500-year-old big green tree in Xizhou has a natural magnetic force, sheltering the growth of generations of villagers. In the 21st century, the library was "resurrected" as a characteristic town construction project of Xizhou Ancient Town (Bai Nationality), which was restored by the government with millions of yuan and opened for operation in 2021.

Today, Cangyi Library continues to function as a public cultural space, often hosting art exhibitions, new book sharing, academic lectures, lifestyles, etc.
