This year's book section will present more high-quality art books at home and abroad than in previous editions, especially the new "high-quality used books" section has become a highlight of this year's Book Fair. At the scene, old books such as Lu Xun's "Wild Grass" published by Shanghai Beixin Book Company in 1933 and Ba Jin's signed edition of "Ba Jin's Anthology" attracted many readers. According to the staff of the fine used book exhibition area, there are many rare first editions, autographed books and rare editions that are difficult to find, and there are nearly 100 kinds of old books in the Republic of China period alone.

This year's Book Fair is a feast of art books for art professionals, collectors and ordinary enthusiasts. Kou Qin, general manager of Beijing Guardian Art Center and chief curator of the Guardian International Art Book Fair, said that this year's book fair broke the traditional "booth" concept of the book fair and planned it as an art exhibition. Walking into the exhibition hall, the audience is like entering an elegantly furnished and unobstructed art study, and they can freely and easily choose their favorite books.

"It turns out that Xu Zhimo and Hu Shi not only write books, but also design book covers!" At the book fair site's "100 Books of the Republic of China" book binding exhibition, the audience can enjoy the classic works from Lu Xun, Zhou Zuoren, Hu Shi, Guo Moruo, Mao Dun, Feng Zikai, Zhu Ziqing, Lao She, Bingxin, Shen Congwen, Ba Jin, Ye Lingfeng and other well-known writers, as well as the unique book binding design of that era. Focusing on the historical changes of modern and modern Chinese book binding, this exhibition focuses on the theme of "book clothing", and displays 100 kinds of books designed by well-known book binding designers, publishers and painters in the collection of modern Chinese literature.

At the exhibition site, the design of Hu Shi's "Trial Collection" (Shanghai Oriental Library, 1920, first edition), Guo Moruo's "Goddess" (Shanghai Taidong Book Company, 1921, first edition), and Bingxin's "Spring Water" (Xinchao Society, 1923, first edition of rough-edged books) and other books of the Republic of China feasted the audience's eyes. As one of the founders of modern Chinese literature, Lu Xun regarded binding as an important part of books, not only designed dozens of book covers, but also guided a group of young painters to create boldly. The cover of The Scream, designed by him, has a crimson background and the title is carved like a black stone carving, which looks heavy and powerful, and foreshadows struggle and light.

This year's "Special Exhibition of Book Collection Culture" also launched the "From the Field, Courtyard to the Study - Ning Chengchun, Zhao Guangchao, Zhu Yingchun, Lu Mingjing Book Design Exhibition", which exhibited the inspiration and creativity of four contemporary independent designers in book binding design. The exhibition takes books as the carrier and organizes the scenes with the main line of "from the field, courtyard to the study", leading the audience from the natural field, stepping into the courtyard of the Forbidden City, and entering the study of the literati, immersing themselves in the spiritual world of the designer, and experiencing the inspiration and expression of the book designer on nature, history and culture.

"Look, these are 30 insect poems co-created by 12 poets!" At the exhibition site, book designer Zhu Yingchun's "Insect Poems" was surrounded by readers, and the "creators" of this magical poetry collection turned out to be spotted diving flies, earthworms and other insects. Through long-term observation of insects, Zhu Yingchun meticulously collected and classified the traces left by insects, and completed this "Insect Poem" through artistic recreation. In the artist's view, poetry is a high degree of condensation of language, and has a certain rhythm and rhyme, which is in line with the characteristics of insect traces and insect chirps. The cover of "Tofu", which is popular on the Internet, was also unveiled at the book fair, with the cover simulating the surface texture of tofu, which looks like a square piece of tofu, and opens to a book of pictures and texts with the theme of "tofu".

It is reported that in addition to a wide range of art books and interesting exhibition activities, this book fair will also invite many "big names" in the publishing, art and collection circles to appear in lectures and salons and other reading activities. The Book Fair also launched a special project "Books of the Future", which aims to explore the new forms that books may take in the future through the integration of art and technology.
