He is not willing to be lonely at any time. I've heard that people don't agree with him writing it, and it's because he insists on fighting for it. Mr. Qian seemed to disdain to talk about this matter, and said to me mysteriously: 'Do you know that Fu Lei didn't want others to write a preface for this book before his death, as long as one person writes it, who is it?' He looked at me with a puzzled look, smiled and pointed to himself and said, 'He asked me to write it!'" Yang Jiang's "Five Generations of Fu Yi's Biography": "I only saw Fu Lei and Zhong Shu have had an awkward quarrel once. In 1954, when Fu Lei was unable to attend a conference on translation work in Beijing, he only put forward a written opinion and cited many erroneous example sentences, which angered many people and scolded Fu Lei for being arrogant. At that time, he was separated from us, and when he read Chung Shu's letter of reproach to him, he was silent for a while. And another story of Fu Lei's "awkward quarrel with Zhong Shu", Yang Jikang did not "see". In April 1955, Fu Lei delivered the translation of "Yusuer Miroe" to the People's Literature Publishing House; when Zhao Shaohou reviewed it, he thought that its style was "behind the times" and the translation method was "specious", and he also resisted "the editorial department to ask him to revise it". Deputy editor-in-chief Lou Shiyi then invited Qian Zhongshu to approve it, because Qian was Fu's friend and was most "admired" by Fu. Unexpectedly, Fu Lei was unwilling, and some of Qian Zhongshu's opinions were also "unacceptable", and he also said some "angry words" and "fired" at Qian, causing Qian to "fall into this dispute". Lou Shiyi had to ask Ye Shengtao again to "give advice from Chinese", and Ye Hui said that there was no problem. The Fu translation was published in November 1956. Fu Lei vented his anger at his son at that time ("Fu Lei's Letters", March 26, 1956): "Balzac's Huss Mirouet, which was translated in April last year, has been put on hold for 11 months, and only recently I have written to say that it is ready to be released. They reviewed and reviewed, and they couldn't put forward any opinions, but it was delayed for so long. Fu Min has a deep feeling for "Qian Zhongshu is very sarcastic and funny" (Chen Bin's "Different Memory: Listening to Fu Min Talk about Mr. Qian Zhongshu"). At this time, I read Yang Jiang's "Remember My Translation": "The French editor of the People's Literature Publishing House is Zhao Shaohou. Ordinary translators and editors often get into trouble because of their opinions, but Zhao Shaohou and I became friends. Fang Jue was full of words. Mr. Qian said consistently to Fu Yi (quoted by Luo Xinzhang in "Qian Zhongshu and Fu Lei's Friendship Sidenote"): "As for Fu Yi's Chinese expression, there are many things that can be considered. Luo Xinzhang's article was at the invitation of Yang Jiang, but it did not hit Yang Jiang's intention. Luo Xinzhang's own statement (see Zheng Yanguo's "Xiao Xiangzi Translation: Luo Xinzhang on the Other End of the Phone"): "On March 3, 2010, Mr. Yang called and invited me to write a commemorative text and thank Mr. Qian on behalf of Mr. Qian...... On November 11, Liu Mingjiu called and said that he had received a notice of the commemoration of the centenary of Qian Zhongshu's birth, and on the 9th, he went to a half-day meeting and received a copy of the "Commemorative Anthology", and the "Spiritual Legacy of Mr. Qian Zhongshu" written by him was included. The 15th issue of the weekly "Sea Breeze" on February 23, 1946 contained "The Essays of Qian Zhongshu" by Si Le.

Luo Xinzhang, a lover of Fu translation, remembered: "Mr. Qian said: Fu Lei translated "John Christopher" for the first time, and he once helped him read the whole manuscript. Afterwards, Fu Lei said that everyone is an old friend, so I won't mention it in the preface. Like the inscription in the opening book, "The dawn and fog are beginning to open, and the sun is rising", it may be Mr. Qian's translation or rewriting. The 15th issue of the "Sea Breeze" weekly edited by Tang Dalang and Gong Zhifang on February 23, 1946 has Si Le's "Essays on Qian Zhongshu", Zhongyun: "Qian Zhongshu has some doubts about Fu Lei's translation of "Johann Christopher". He thought that this book did not conform to the laws of fiction, and could not be used as a novel, it was completely enthusiastic incitement, but it was just for the taste of young people. It is also said that the novel pushes France as the crown, although Romain Rolland is a legal person, and this book is slightly inferior with the help of German flavor. No. 766 of the Journal of the Jungon Pavilion is supplemented by André Gide's mockery of Jean-Christophe's reward. Mr. Qian did not read the notes of Romain Rolland's book, and he only glanced at the journal (p. 616 with Au-dessus de la mêlée). Romain Rolland may be like the "Pearl Buck" and his ilk, and he is only worthy of proving that the Nobel Prize in Literature is not "significant" ("Famous Scholar Qian Zhongshu Recently Expresses His Views on the Nobel Prize in Literature", Literature and Art Daily, April 5, 1986). Tao Ran, "Teacher Qian Ying" (United Daily News, October 22, 2003): "When it comes to translating novels, when it comes to Fu Lei, Mr. Qian says that he is an uncle, but he has not read his translation of "John Christopher".
