At 12 noon today (April 19), with the completion of the last tank of concrete, the largest single project of the second phase of the Hanjiwei project, the Weihe pipe bridge cable tower, was capped on schedule, and officially entered the stage of steel girder erection and installation, laying a solid foundation for ensuring that the second phase of the Hanjiwei project will be completed and opened to water in 2026.
As one of the 150 major water conservancy projects to be promoted during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the second phase of the Hanjiwei Water Diversion Project consists of three parts: the Huangchigou Water Distribution Hub, the South Trunk Project and the North Trunk Project, with a total length of 190 kilometers. Among them, the Weihe Pipe Bridge has a total length of 1.23 kilometers, is the largest single project and control project of the whole line, the main bridge is composed of four towers and 48 pairs of cable-stayed cables, the height of the cable tower is 73.5 meters, it is the first four-tower five-span steel truss girder cable-stayed structure of the water pipeline bridge in China.
After the completion of the second phase of the project, 1.5 billion cubic meters of water will be diverted from the Han River every year, effectively solving the industrial and domestic water supply of the Guanzhong urban agglomeration, and benefiting more than 14 million people. At the same time, it has also added a "north-south allocation" water transmission channel in the main skeleton center of the national water network, which will play an important role in achieving spatial balance in the allocation of water resources and ensuring high-quality economic and social development.
