In ancient times, the tide of the Wujiang River was turbulent, and when the tide rose, there were often losses to fields and houses, and sometimes people were swept away, and the people in the riverside villages suffered greatly. One year, during the tide season, the tide came more fiercely than usual, and people were worried.
One of the villagers proposed, "Why don't we go and ask Gu Gong to see if he can save us." The villagers all agreed to this method, so they made a clay statue for King Gu Ye and placed it in front of King Gu Ye's door.
The whole village came to offer incense to King Gu Ye and pray for his safety, but King Gu Ye did not respond.
One night, the villagers heard the sound of the tide again, indicating that a big wave was coming.
The villagers didn't care about what to bring, and hurriedly ran to the high ground with the old man and the child. In a short time, the tide came straight to the village, and the villagers were very sad when they looked at it from afar.
If this tide poured in, I am afraid that the whole village would be submerged, and they would have to leave their homes. At the moment when the flood was about to come ashore, people heard a sigh coming from Gu Yewang's house.
Immediately, they saw Gu Yewang open the door and shouted at the tide in the distance, the tide seemed to be stopped by something, and then retreated.
The villagers were stunned when they saw this, and quickly knelt down together to thank King Gu Ye.
Early the next morning, people all gathered in front of Gu Yewang's house, but they didn't see Gu Yewang's figure on the roof. The village chief had the courage to knock on the door, but found it hidden, and he pushed it open.
He had a bad premonition, and hurriedly came to the house to find that Gu Yewang had already sat down.
On the day of his burial, all the men, women and children of the whole village came to see off King Gu Ye. Afterwards, people built a Gu Gong Temple for him in the former residence of King Gu Ye.
After nearly a thousand years, the Tang Dynasty, the Song Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty, and the Qing Dynasty have people repairing it.
In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Gugong Temple was destroyed, but fortunately, the statue was preserved, and now the Gugong Temple has been rebuilt.
Gu Yewang also had a student named Yu Shinan, who was one of the twenty-four heroes of Lingyan Pavilion. King Gu Ye also has a powerful descendant named Gu Yanwu.
Luo Bing Wang
If the first two are not familiar, then this one must be known! Luo Bingwang, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, is the author of the popular "Song of the Goose."
Luo Bing Wang was young and outstanding, and according to legend, he could compose poems at the age of seven, and this "Song of the Goose" was his work when he was seven years old. He, Lu Zhaolin and other four people are known as the "Four Masters of the Early Tang Dynasty" and are famous all over the world.
