The Chinese Athletics Association plans to issue guidelines to regulate commercial competition in road running events
The Chinese Athletics Association held a meeting on the 16th, proposing to study and issue guiding opinions on regulating commercial competition in road running events as soon as possible, and strengthen guidance and training in market standardization and other aspects.
The Chinese Athletics Association said in the conference news released on its official website that since the spring of 2024, road running events across the country have been held in a centralized manner, and the enthusiasm of the masses to participate is high. On the whole, the road running events that have been held have been running smoothly as a whole, but they have also exposed problems in the organization and management of the events, which have aroused widespread concern in the society.
The meeting required that the relevant units of all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) should earnestly improve their political positions, further unify their thinking, effectively enhance their sense of responsibility, continue to strengthen the work with the competition organization as the core, further standardize and refine the work standards and processes of each link, and ensure that there are no problems with the safety of road running events, anti-doping and competition style and discipline.
The meeting pointed out that the Chinese Athletics Association will further strengthen the guidance and supervision of road running events, first, strictly review the event plan, improve the pre-race on-site inspection, strengthen risk warnings, and continue to optimize the supervision mechanism; second, study and issue guiding opinions on regulating the commercial competition of road running events as soon as possible, and strengthen the guidance and training in market standardization; third, further increase the risk prediction of key links and key parts of road running events, and formulate targeted response plans.
The relevant persons in charge of the sports administrative departments of various provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), the heads of the provincial road running event supervision units, the road running committee and related working groups of the Chinese Athletics Association, and the representatives of the organizers, organizers and operators of the certified road running event participated in the meeting through a combination of online and offline methods.
