The 6th Ministerial Conference of Forum Macao is ready

The 6th Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) will be held in Macao from 21 to 23 April. Li Hongzhong, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, will attend the opening ceremony and deliver a speech. The forum will host a number of activities, including the opening ceremony, the ministerial meeting and the conference of entrepreneurs from China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

The 6th Ministerial Conference of Forum Macao is ready

April 22nd

The opening ceremony of Forum Macao will be held on the morning of 22 July. Vice Chairman Li Hongzhong will attend and deliver a speech, and the heads of delegations of Portuguese-speaking countries will deliver speeches respectively. Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, presided over the opening ceremony.

In the afternoon, the 6th Ministerial Conference of Forum Macao was held, which will identify the key areas of economic and trade co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries in the next three years, further develop Macao's role as a commercial and trade co-operation service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and sign the Action Plan for Economic and Trade Co-operation (2024-2027).

The Conference of Entrepreneurs of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries will be held on the morning of 23 July, with speeches by Vice Minister of Commerce Guo Tingting, Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macao, Lei Wai Nong, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhang Shaogang and representatives of Portuguese-speaking countries. The Chairman of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), U Yu Sang, presided over the meeting.

Founded in Macao in October 2003, Forum Macao is hosted by the Central People's Government of China (Ministry of Commerce) and organized by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Nine Portuguese-speaking countries – Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe and Timor-Leste – participated in the event.

Since its establishment, Forum Macao has successfully held five Ministerial Conferences and one Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting, promoting the continuous improvement of cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries in the fields of intergovernmental cooperation, trade and investment, industrial cooperation, development cooperation, human resources, medical and health care, education and culture, etc., as well as bringing opportunities for Macao to build a commercial and trade co-operation service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries and promote moderate economic diversification.

Everything is ready for the VI Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries

The VI Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) will be held from 21 to 23 April in Macao, and its work has been well prepared. The opening ceremony of the Forum will take place on the morning of the 22nd (Monday), and will be attended by the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress, Li Hongzhong, who will deliver a relevant speech, as well as the leaders of the Portuguese-speaking Countries and the heads of the delegations who will also speak on the occasion. The Minister of Commerce, Wang Wentao, will preside over the opening ceremony. In the afternoon, the VI Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries will begin, in which the main areas of economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries for the next three years will be identified, with the promotion of Macao's role as a Service Platform for Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. and the signing of the 'Action Plan for Economic and Trade Cooperation (2024-2027)' continues.

The Meeting of Entrepreneurs from China and Portuguese-speaking Countries will take place on the morning of the 23rd (Tuesday), with speeches by the Vice Minister of Commerce, Guo Tingting, the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Lei Wai Nong, the Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Zhang Shaogang, and representatives of Portuguese-speaking Countries. The same event will be attended by the President of the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, U U Sang, who will chair the meeting.

Forum Macao was established in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) in October 2003 and is organized by the Central Government of China (Ministry of Commerce) with the cooperation of the Macao SAR Government. The Forum has the participation of the nine Portuguese-speaking countries, namely Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste.

Since the establishment of the Forum, five editions of the Ministerial Conference and one Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting have been successfully held, promoting cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries in the fields of intergovernmental cooperation, trade and investment cooperation, sectoral cooperation, development cooperation, human resources, medical and health cooperation, education and culture, among others, bringing to Macao opportunities for the construction of the Service Platform for Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries and the appropriate diversification of its economy.
