On April 18, Xingkang Community and Tsing Ma Social Work Development Centre launched a health promotion activity. With the theme of "Happiness for the Elderly, Healthy Silver Age", the event aims to enhance the health knowledge of the elderly, improve their health literacy and enrich their spiritual life in a pleasant atmosphere.
The event begins. First of all, the social work team of Tsing Ma Social Work Development Centre brought vivid health tips to help everyone master a healthy lifestyle. Subsequently, the community workers led everyone to learn finger exercises, including ten-finger insertion and grinding, lotus buckle fingering and finger flicking, etc., and the activities were carried out in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. Then, the activity entered the handicraft part. Following the guidance of the social worker, the residents used twisting sticks to make simple tulips and other decorations by themselves, which not only exercised the dexterity of their fingers, but also felt the joy of creation. In addition, the community worker also led everyone to plant succulents and explained the tips on succulent plant planting. The DIY creation session pushed the activity to a climax, and everyone gave full play to their imagination to create unique handicrafts and improve the coordination of hands and brains.
The event attracted more than 10 residents, who said that they not only learned practical health knowledge through this activity, but also felt the warmth and care of the community.
