Clamp, polyphonic characters, pinyin jiā, jiá, gā, first seen in the Shang Dynasty oracle bone inscriptions. Its ancient character image is like two people on the left and right sides supporting the middle person, the original meaning is to hold each other on the left and right, indicating that the people on both sides are holding the person in the middle, that is, the note in the "Shuowen Jie Zi": "Clamp, hold also." Later, it was extended to be a utensil used to clamp things. When pronounced jiá, it refers to two layers of inner and outer layers, mostly referring to clothing, and when pronounced gā, it means "limb socket".
