Yang Lihua is a veteran who returned to his hometown in 2017 to found the Hanjiang Green Valley Pepper Planting Cooperative. After five years, he and his team successfully bred three high-quality varieties named "Xiangxiang La", which can yield up to 2,500 kilograms per mu, which is twice the yield of ordinary peppers.
Yang Lihua also combined with market demand to guide farmers to adopt the model of "enterprise + cooperative + farmer" to develop the pepper seed industry according to local conditions. Through standardized and large-scale centralized seedling breeding, it effectively solves the problem of difficult seedling raising for villagers and helps pepper farmers save production costs.

At present, the pepper seedling base has realized seed pellet technology, pepper seedling substrate formula, water and fertilizer integration, disease prevention and comprehensive management and other technologies. The cooperatives have also cultivated a complete standardized production system suitable for the northwest of Hubei Province, such as seedling substrate formulas and green cultivation technical regulations, and the number of seedlings has increased from 1.25 million to 7.5 million now, and the planting area of peppers has reached more than 5,000 acres.
