Accused of illegally accepting more than 386 million yuan in property! Fan Yifei, former deputy governor of the central bank, opened the first trial of the bribery case

Today (18 July), the Intermediate People's Court of Huanggang City, Hubei Province, openly tried the case of Fan Yifei, former member of the party committee and vice president of the People's Bank of China, for accepting bribes.

The People's Procuratorate of Huanggang City, Hubei Province indicted and alleged: From 1993 to 2022, defendant Fan Yifei used his position as the manager of the planning and finance department, assistant to the general manager and deputy director of the capital planning department of the former Chinese Construction Bank Trust and Investment Company, deputy director of the capital planning department, general manager of the financial accounting department, general manager of the planning and finance department, assistant to the president, member of the party committee and vice president of the China Construction Bank, member of the party committee and deputy general manager of the China Investment Corporation and chairman of the board of directors of the Bank of Shanghai, member of the party committee of the People's Bank of China, The vice president and other positions, as well as the facilitation conditions formed by the use of their authority or position, through the acts of other state functionaries in their positions, provided assistance to relevant units and individuals in matters such as loan financing, business contracting, and job transfer, and illegally accepted property totaling more than 386 million yuan, either directly or through their specific related parties. The procuratorate requested that Fan Yifei be investigated for criminal responsibility for the crime of accepting bribes.

During the trial, the procuratorate presented relevant evidence, the defendant Fan Yifei and his defender conducted cross-examination, the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court, and Fan Yifei made a final statement and pleaded guilty and repented in court. At the end of the trial, the court announced an adjournment and announced the verdict at a later date.

More than 40 people, including deputies to the National People's Congress, members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and people from all walks of life, attended the trial.
