It is currently closed to fishing. Recently, the Songjiang police arrested a couple who not only illegally fished aquatic products during the fishing ban period, but also used a fishing method that greatly damaged fishery resources and the ecological environment - "electrofishing", and illegally caught more than 100 kilograms. At present, the two suspects have been taken criminal compulsory measures by the Songjiang police in accordance with the law on suspicion of illegal fishing of aquatic products.
After receiving the clues, the police of the Dongjing Police Station of the Songjiang Public Security Bureau quickly rushed to the scene. It was about 3 a.m. and it was pitch black around the water. The couple was driving an improvised boat near the river bank when they saw the police, and the suspect man quickly dumped the fish in the plastic bag into the river and tried to escape. The police then took control of the two suspects. In the small boat driven by the two, large and small basins were filled with all kinds of catches, and after counting, a total of 152 fish and more than 100 kilograms.
Article 340 of the Criminal Law of the Mainland stipulates that anyone who violates the laws and regulations on the protection of aquatic resources by fishing aquatic products in prohibited areas, during prohibited fishing periods, or by using prohibited tools or methods, and the circumstances are serious, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, short-term detention, controlled release or a fine. The police reminded the general public not to leave anything to chance, defy the law, and not let the "fishing net" touch the "legal net".
