In the vast land of China, Henan, with its rich historical and cultural heritage, has become the core area for exploring the taproot of Chinese civilization. The distribution density of large ruins such as ancient settlements, capital ruins, and imperial tombs here has attracted the attention of the world, and the total number ranks first in the country. They not only carry rich historical information and cultural connotations, but also are the link between Henan and ancient civilizations.

The great ruins of Henan, like bright stars, are dotted on the ancient land. They have the characteristics of concentrated overall contiguity, continuous era, rich connotation, diverse forms, overlapping ancient and modern cities, and deep underground. In order to "live" these heritages displayed on the vast land, various parts of Henan have explored their own unique protection and utilization models according to local conditions. Zhengzhou's "ecological heritage" project and Luoyang's "building a new city away from the old city" protection model of large ruins are all respects and inheritances of the profound culture of this land.

The road to the protection and utilization of large ruins is not an easy road, and although remarkable results have been made, there are still some problems and difficulties that need to be solved urgently. This requires continuous innovation and more scientific and effective methods of protection and utilization, so that the value of large sites can be better played.

On the occasion of the "International Day of Monuments and Sites" on April 18, Henan Daily will gather the strength of the whole company and will launch a large-scale series of media reports on "Seeing Henan with the Main Root and Main Vein" starting tomorrow. We will take the time evolution of the origin and development of Chinese civilization as a clue, and visit 20 major sites with influence in the country and the world, such as the Jiahu ruins and Yangshao village ruins. Through the systematic combing and summary of these large ruins, a rich and three-dimensional "Henan Great Ruins Map" is drawn, showing the "Henan Model" of the protection and utilization of large ruins, so that the results of cultural relics protection can benefit more people.
