In 1933, 19-year-old Ye Fei was attacked by Kuomintang agents outside Fu'an City, and was shot three times.

Ye Fei, formerly known as Ye Qiheng, was born in the Philippines in 1914 from Nan'an, Fujian Province. He returned to China to study at an early age, and was influenced by the Great Revolution in middle school, actively reading progressive books and embracing revolutionary ideas. At the age of 14, he joined the Chinese Communist Youth League. In March 1932, Ye Fei joined the Communist Party of China and emerged during the guerrilla period in eastern Fujian, participated in the establishment of the revolutionary base area in eastern Fujian and the guerrilla armed forces of the Red Army, and successively participated in the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Ye Fei served as the governor of Fujian Province and the first secretary of the provincial party committee. At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Fujian's industrial base was very weak, the traffic situation was also very poor, and two-thirds of the counties in the province were not connected to cars. At that time, there was a folk song among the common people: "Fujian is defenseless, and the road is defenseless." ”
In order to completely change the backward appearance of Fujian, while presiding over the work of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, Ye Fei led the cadres and masses to overcome difficulties such as poor natural conditions, lack of funds, and lack of technology, moved mountains and reclaimed the sea, split mountains and built roads, established the first batch of emerging industrial bases in Fujian, built the Xiamen seawall, and built the Yingxia Railway, ending the history of Fujian's lack of railways and laying an important foundation for Fujian's economic and social development.

In the 90s of the last century, someone invited Ye Fei to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of a company, saying that the gold scissors used for ribbon-cutting were worth 50,000 yuan, and they were given to him after the ribbon-cutting. Ye Fei heard this: "Don't say 50,000 yuan, it's 500,000 yuan, and I won't go." In order to keep these people out, Ye Fei copied Mao Zedong's poem praising Hao Balian's "resist corrosion and never get wet" and sent it to the lobbyist, and the nickname of "resisting corrosion generals" spread.

Ye Fei not only has a clean and honest style, but also strictly requires his children's families to "not engage in specialization". After the reform and opening up, the "tide of studying abroad", "going to the sea to do business", and "pulling relations with overseas fever" have become fashionable in society. Considering that he was in charge of overseas Chinese affairs and his influence in the overseas Chinese community, Ye Fei and his children "agreed on three chapters": First, to become a talented person based on China, they do not necessarily have to go overseas to study; second, they must not use their parents' relationship to go to the sea to do business and seek profits; and third, they are not allowed to establish relations with overseas Chinese and foreign Chinese because of personal interests. Ye Fei also set strict requirements for the staff around him, stipulating that he was not allowed to use his name to do personal affairs; he must be conscientious and responsible in his work, loyal and honest to the party; and he must start and finish the work he assigns.
"When the tide is low, the scholar throws his pen from Rong, the general dominates the wind and clouds in a hundred battles, and the chief has both courage and courage, and has made miraculous contributions to the Chinese revolution; he has been indifferent to the world all his life, and he has not liked low-level interests all his life, and the chief is only upright in his life, and he is the loyal soul of our party and our army. This is a couplet written for him by the staff around him after Ye Fei's death.
