On April 16, the machine collection department of the blood station in the center of Weinan welcomed an "old friend" Yang Jiahao, who donated blood. As always, he skillfully filled out forms, medical examinations, and laboratory tests to prepare for his 105th blood donation.
Yang Jiahao is a post-90s guy from Xi'an. In 2017, at the age of 20, he learned by chance that blood donation can help many patients in need, so he decided to participate in blood donation. In the past seven years, he has donated blood wherever he goes, and the amount of blood donated has reached 40,800 ml.
In addition to donating blood, Yang Jiahao also actively participates in various volunteer activities, whether it is assisting blood station staff at blood donation points or promoting blood donation knowledge in the community, he does his best to contribute to the public welfare cause of unpaid blood donation. At the same time, he also joined the China Bone Marrow Bank in May 2019 as an honorable volunteer donor of hematopoietic stem cells. He said he didn't hesitate to join when he heard that it could save the lives of patients with blood disorders more directly.
Since 2017, Yang Jiahao has won the National Gold Award for Unpaid Blood Donation twice, and this year in the 2022-2023 National Award for Unpaid Blood Donation, he declared the Gold Award and the Lifetime Honor Award. These honors are not only a recognition of his persistence in participating in unpaid blood donation over the years, but also a recognition and encouragement of his selfless dedication.
Enthusiasm transmits health, and youth shows responsibility. Yang Jiahao said that unpaid blood donation is not only a transmission of love, but also the experience of every young person's growth, 105 times of blood donation is just the beginning for him, he is still young, and will continue to donate blood and volunteer services in the future.
