Klay Thompson was so bad at the game against the Kings that the AI mistook his performance for the real act of sabotaging the Warriors' playoff run.
The 2023-24 Golden State Warriors suffered a heavy loss in the playoffs, losing 94-118 to the Sacramento Kings, and all eyes were on Klay Thompson after the game while the whole team was in trouble.
Thompson probably had the worst game of his career (0 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 0-of-10 shooting) in a difficult season that could be his final game with the Golden State Warriors.
If his performance alone was bad enough, Thompson is now the subject of a hilarious AI blunder on Twitter/X. The problem started after the contest when many different accounts started posting the exact same tweet online.

The social media platform has a new AI system that they have been rolling out, and it seems that because of these tweets, it misunderstands the message.
The AI system actually believed that Thompson was throwing bricks and destroying people's houses, creating a popular news story with a number of different accounts posting the same tweet above claiming that the legendary three-point shooter was destroying houses with bricks after the Warriors lost.
"In a bizarre incident, NBA star Klay Thompson was accused of destroying multiple homes in Sacramento. Authorities are investigating the allegations after several individuals reported that their homes had been damaged by bricks and windows were smashed.
Klay Thompson has yet to issue a statement on the allegations. The incidents shocked the community, but no one was injured. The motive behind the alleged vandalism is unknown. ”
Don't look at the AI as a human being, but it's hard to know that the AI is right this time, after all, when there is 1 minute and 54 seconds left in the final quarter of the game, the Warriors are 91-116 behind, and there is no suspense.
So the Warriors replaced the main team and announced their surrender, the Warriors players sat on the bench, Curry and others had grim expressions, only Klay was smiling.
To be honest, Klay is likely to sabotage the Warriors' entry into the playoffs because the Warriors didn't give him a satisfactory contract extension.
Klay Thompson's woes hit new lows, in stark contrast to the pre-match rhetoric.
For most NBA fans, this mistake may be laughable, but for Thompson and the Warriors, it just adds insult to injury.
It was an extremely tough year for Thompson (17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 43.2 shooting), and while he looked to have found his shooting touch at the end of the regular season, that wasn't the case against the Kings.
The good news (technically) is that Thompson didn't actually break anyone's house in Sacramento, it's just a bug with an AI system that's still developing. If you need any proof that these new AI tools aren't perfect, this is a great example of how that claim isn't true.
Once he shakes off the shadow of this defeat and finds himself the subject of jokes again, Thompson will begin to turn his attention to a very important offseason.
Still, there's a good chance that his time with Golden State is over, and if it's the end of his illustrious career with the team, it's a shame to do so, considering all the previous successes he's had with the team.
