A few days later, Huineng, who was chopping firewood and cooking in the firewood room, wrote a note: "Bodhi has no tree, and the mirror is not a platform." There was nothing in the first place, where to stir up dust. ”
Seeing this, Hongren decisively passed the mantle to Huineng, the sixth generation ancestor.
Later, Huineng advocated the method of epiphany in Caoxi, but he never wrote and admired the transmission of the heart.
One day, the two monks were arguing, one was moving in the wind and the other was moving.
The monks in the monastery can't judge who is right.
Huineng said: "Not the wind moves, not the flags move, the benevolent heart moves." ”

What can be done is to ignore everything outside of "this one place". Where the heart can be fixed, there is success in life.
The heart is "wise", and the work is confident.
During the Western Han Dynasty, there was a young man, Dong Zhongshu, who was so fascinated by books that he forgot to eat and sleep.
His father was worried that he was studying too hard and that it would affect his health. So, behind the book house, a small garden was built for walking.
In the small garden, the flowers are lush and green, and there are slaves frolicking, but Dong Zhongshu was unmoved, leaving an allusion of "not peeping into the garden for three years".
